The movie

SAMSARA (2001)
by Pan Nalin
(Tibetan/Ladhaki with English Subtitles)
Runtime: 138 min.

A spiritual love-story set in the majestic landscape of Ladakh,
Himalayas. Samsara is a quest; one man's struggle to find spiritual
Enlightenment by renouncing the world. And one woman's struggle to keep
her enlightened love and life in the world. But their destiny turns,
twists and comes to a surprise ending...

The tale is more of the excursion of a Monk and his experience of
marriage, sex and emotions that arise than of his enlightenment. He
found out what he had to know and paid the price. The film is lush with
Tibetan style dress, architecture and landscapes. The love scenes are a
treat for the eyes and the lead actors are very convincing yet more
subtle than raw.
