Air traffic controllers plan strike for Thursday 12 April
Unions representing air traffic controllers in France have planned a
strike on Thursday.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that up to 50% of flights at
Orly
airport could be affected, and some 30% of flights at Roissy Charles de
Gaulle airport could be affected.
Some flights will continue to operate because of minimum service
requirements imposed on air controllers.
The controllers are striking to protest a reorganization of regional air
approaches, according to the report.
* Airline disruptions
Those planning to travel by air to or from this destination should check
with their airline or travel agent immediately to reconfirm travel
arrangements. If your flight has been canceled, request the next
available
flight. Traffic on roadways leading to airports may be considerably
slower
than normal. Airports are likely to become very crowded, and lines will
be
long. Allow a good measure of extra time to get to the airport, check in
and go through security.
