BIMBIMBICI 2006/ GET ICTP KIDS INVOLVED!

On Saturday 13 May, the annual children's bike ride, BIMBIMBICI, is
being organised for young cyclists and their parents between the Train
Station in town and Miramare Castle. This outing is held all over
Italy and is dedicated to all children's right to move freely and
safely around their city.

The president of ULISSE-FIAB, Stefano Cozzini, encourages the
participation of a group from ICTP!

The outing is being organised this year by ULISSE-FIAB and Gruppo Beppe
Grillo di Trieste to raise public awareness of the pressing need for a
safe and adequate bike path from town to Barcola and Miramare.

Practical information:
13.45:
Meeting in Piazza della Libertà (garden in front of the train station)

14.00
Departure for Miramare, with traffic police escort
Gathering in Miramare Park in front of the Castle
Return to town
(total of about 15 km)

For smaller children who don't want to pedal all the way, a train is
being organised to carry a limited number of kids and their bikes from
town to Miramare, where they will then meet the others and pedal home.
Call Ulisse (040 304414) for information on availability.

Registration:

Either before departure in Piazza della Libertà on Saturday or at the
Headquarters of Ulisse-Fiab in via del Sale 4/b (Cavana) on Thursday or
Friday from 18.30 to 20.30, tel. 040 304414.

Adults and kids: 2 euro
(with train ride 4 euro adults, 3 euro kids, under 3 free)

For every registration fee, one euro will go to the FIAB project in
Africa "TOGO By Bicycle" which is raising funds for a bike mechanics
shop and the provision of bicycles to enable citizens to reach
hospitals and other social services.
