Dear colleagues, students, and ICTP friends,

A few seats are still available for a special lecture by a distinguished speaker:

the TWAS Budinich Lecture on Science Diplomacy,

which will be delivered by Ms. Ko Barrett, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on Tuesday, 21 July from 9:00 to 10:00 in the Lagrange Lecture Hall (ICTP Leonardo Building).

To book your seat, please click on the following link.

In her lecture, "The Critical Role of Science in Diplomacy," Ms. Barrett will share insights drawn from her extensive experience in science diplomacy, including her tenure as Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from 2015 to 2023, and more than 15 years participation in U.S. delegations engaged in climate science and policy negotiations. Her talk will also highlight WMO’s current priorities within an increasingly complex multilateral landscape, viewed through a science diplomacy lens.

We look forward to your participation.

Best regards,
TWAS Public Information Unit
