Reflective walks between the Karst and the sea: the beloved
programme for wellbeing returns
A new edition of “Reflective walks – From the Karst to the
Sea 2.0” is set to begin in May. The initiative is part of
the PRO-BENE-COMUNE project and focuses on promoting wellbeing
within the school community.
Running from 16 May to 3 October, the programme offers a
series of walks across the Karst plateau and the coastal areas
around Trieste. The aim is twofold: encouraging physical
activity, exploring the beautiful surroundings of Trieste, while
creating space for shared reflection on psychological wellbeing
and the connection between mind and body.
Each walk is designed as a participatory experience. After an
initial introduction, participants split into pairs and begin
walking, guided by questions proposed by the organisers to
stimulate discussion. Along the route, group moments allow
participants to reflect collectively on the themes that emerge,
sometimes through more structured activities.
The programme includes two cycles of walks: a spring
cycle (7 events between May and June) and an autumn cycle (5
events between September and October), taking place on
Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The dates of the spring cycle are:
Saturdays at 9:30: 16th, 23th, 30th of May and 6th of June
Wednesdays at 17:30: 20th, 27th of May and 3rd of June
No specific skills are required, apart from suitable walking
attire. The tempo of walking is easy and suitable for everyone.
Participation is free, with mandatory registration via an online
form.
