Dear All,

You are most welcome to attend the special opening ceremony of the new Euler-Lagrange Lecture Halls taking place today, Wednesday 23 April.

At 14.00 hrs, Prof. Alberto Cogliati of the University of Padua will give a colloquium entitled Joseph-Louis Lagrange: A Glimpse into His Life and Contributions, offering a concise overview of the life and work of Joseph-Louis Lagrange, one of the most influential mathematicians and physicists of the 18th century. Special attention will be given to his scientific correspondence with Leonhard Euler, which played a crucial role in shaping his early ideas and establishing his reputation across Europe. Prof. Cogliati will also explore his major contributions to analysis, mechanics, and number theory, with a focus on his Théorie des fonctions analytiques.

The colloquium will be followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch the new educational facilities at ICTP. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

We very much hope to see you today!

With best regards,

Office of the Director, ICTP
