You are most welcome to attend the opening ceremony of the new Euler-Lagrange Lecture Hall taking place on Wednesday 23 April, from 14.00 to 16.00 hrs.

At 14.00 hrs, Prof. Alberto Cogliati of the University of Padua will give a colloquium entitled Joseph-Louis Lagrange: A Glimpse into His Life and Contributions, offering a concise overview of the life and work of Joseph-Louis Lagrange, one of the most influential mathematicians and physicists of the18th century. Special attention will be given to his scientific correspondence with Leonhard Euler, which played a crucial role in shaping his early ideas and establishing his reputation across Europe. Prof. Cogliati will also explore his major contributions to analysis, mechanics, and number theory, with a focus on his Théorie des fonctions analytiques.

At 15.00 hrs the colloquium will be followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, in the presence of Vice-Rector of the University of Trieste Valter Sergo.

Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
