TO ICTP Scientists and Staff
Subject: Collaboration with Scuola Media Corsi on a
video to be produced by the School students with ICTP
scientists and staff.
Dear Scientists and Staff,
In the framework of the institutional outreach activities
with Trieste schools, ICTP and Scuola Media Corsi are
following up their fruitful collaboration in staging the
plays Nikola Tesla, Hypathia, Rossum's
Universal Robots, and the video Ramanujan by
working together again on a video project. The video will be
shown on 12 April 2018 at the ICTP in the Budinich Lecture
Hall.
This year’s theme will be reality/virtual reality, the
impacts the digital era has on our present and future lives,
the potentials and the dangers of technology on humankind in
general.
The video will be based on a script, freely inspired by
Samuel Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot and will
include brief interviews to scientists/staff conducted by
the students.
Should you be interested in taking part, you may do so by sending us a a written contribution expressing personal ideas regarding a specific theme (the contribution will be included in the script) or you may prefer to take part more actively by being interviewed directly by the students.
The students and their teachers are visiting the ICTP
on 21 February and on this occasion will conduct a
number of interviews on the spot. Interviews can be held
in English or Italian, or your native language, providing
an English version.
Kindly contact us by 19 February if you are interested:
zmakkawi@ictp.it and
Valerio Capellini valerio@ictp.it
We look forward to your participation!
Best regards,
Zina Makkawi
