ICTP SOCIAL EVENTS THIS SUMMER FOR ALL OUR VISITORS,
SCIENTISTS AND STAFF!
The next ICTP social summer event will take place this Wednesday
at the Adriatico Guesthouse Terrace.
Laura Furci will delight us with her talent, beautiful voice and
international repertoire.
A special buffet dinner will be served at the Adriatico
Guesthouse Cafeteria starting at 19:30 and payable with two
half-meal coupons or by cash - Euros 10.
Laura Furci is a well know
singer and composer and a regular
performer on European stages. She started her musical career as a classical pianist (soloist and
chamber) in Italy and won, at the age of 15, the first prize in the Italian
Piano Competition "Citta' del Parnaso". She has a degree in
classical piano from the Conservatory of Udine as well as a degree
in International Political Science from the University of Trieste. Attracted by Flamenco
sounds, she started her career in Spain where she shared the stage
with Javier Ruibal (Spain), Octavio Kotan (Cuba), Nono Garcia
(Andalucía), and Johnny Phillips (Uk) as a pianist and as a
singer.
She also started composing her own
songs and recorded her first EP "Out of my comfort zone" in New
York (2009) with distinguished names of the contemporary
jazz scene as saxophonist David Binney, pianist John Escreet,
bassist Ugonna Okegwo.
She took part in the opening act for Al Jarreau at Grado Music
Festival, where she performed a duetto with
this great American 6 Grammy Award winning vocalist.
Her Album, "think con la tua cabeza", was produced and recorded
in New York in 2013, featuring Ugonna Okegwo (upright bass),
Colin Stranahan (drums), and Michael League (artistic
co-producer, electric bass, guitar).Her latest Album "paCiencia" was
produced by Campi Campòn Brugada in Madrid in 2015.
