Homage to Paolo Budinich at the Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre

Saturday, November 14th IS commemorates the physicist and founding father of the Science Centre.
Morning free admission to the museum and a special activity for families at 11.00 am

A special morning, for families to work and experiment together, having fun in experiencing the pleasure of discovery. This is how Saturday, November 14th, Immaginario Scientifico pays tribute to Prof. Paolo Budinich (28th August 1916 - 14th November 2013), two years after his death. To commemorate its founding father, the science center in Trieste will be open to the public free of charge, from 10.00 am to 1 pm. At 11.00 am, families with children over 10 years can participate in the free workshop "In full sail"

Remembering Budinich's two great passions, namely Physics and Sailing, in this workshop the families that have reserved  will become creative scientists, trying to find out together how a sailboat is carried by the wind and floats on the sea according to the laws of physics.

Budinich has always firmly believed in his Immaginario Scientifico and in its goal to spread scientific literacy, accompanying him through the joys and the difficulties to achieve it. Thanks to his consistent drive, the Immaginario, after the 1986 exhibition at La Villette in Paris, has grown into a science museum, which now has 5 branches in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

The extraordinary energy and intellectual vitality of the professor – joined the enlightened conviction that through science and science popularisation individuals can get their emancipation, communities progress and peoples unite – have left their indelible mark on those who collaborated with him, and still inspire goals and choices of the Immaginario Scientifico.
