To mark the fifth anniversary of its founding the International Welcome Club in Trieste is to host an event of considerable cultural value.

Friday 29 May at 10.30 am,

In the Sala Piccola FENICE, via S. Francesco 5 - Trieste,

Prof. Maria Cristina Pedicchio

Full professor of Algebra at the University of Trieste – Department of Mathematics and Geosciences

and President of the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS),

will give a talk on:

Why so few? Women in Science and Technology

Internationally orientated and focused from the outset on themes relating to the presence and role of women in science, Prof. Pedicchio readily accepted the invitation from our Club to give a lecture in English to Club members and guests.

An important figure in the world of science, Prof. Pedicchio has held many high-profile posts throughout her career with a large number of university and scientific organisations, national and international panels and committees, ministerial groups, etc.
