2015
TRIESTE MINI MAKER FAIRE, TSMMF
In May 2014, the ICTP organized the first TRIESTE
MINI MAKER FAIRE (TSMMF), in collaboration with Maker Media
Inc. and the Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre.
It was a major, entertaining event and about 7.000 visitors
attended. On the website of Maker Media, our event is listed
among the more successful ones.
It has been decided to organize the 2015 TRIESTE MINI MAKER
FAIRE over two days, to allow the visitors to spend more time
at the stands and for more visitors to come. In addition to
the collaboration with Maker Media Inc., the Immaginario
Scientifico and with Il Piccolo as media partner, the Region,
Province, Comune and AREA Science Park contribute to the
event.
VENUE
It will be held at the Leonardo Building on Saturday, 9
and Sunday 10 May 2015. On Saturday 9, the TSMMF will be open
to the public from 11.00 to 22.00 (stands will close at 20.00
after which there will be a show, mainly for Makers). On
Sunday 10, the TSMMF will be open from 10.00 to 17.00.
The
stands will be spread out on the terrace of the Leonardo
Building, in the main parking lot, in the cafeteria and in the
rear parking lot. The
SciFabLab in Fermi will be open during the TSMMF.
There will be more than 100 projects presented by Makers.
TSMMF will bring together and uncover makers, inventors,
scientists, crafters, artists and all other passionate
creative enthusiasts. Makers will install their equipment from
08.00 in the morning.
PARKING
LOTS CLOSED
The LB parking lots (front and back) will be closed from the
evening of Tuesday 5 May. For those being away from the Centre
the relevant dates, it is important that you remove your car
and/or bicycle from the parking lots or the terrace before the
5th.
PRESENTATIONS, MUSIC, CATERING, TRANSPORTATION
There will be some presentations and talks in the small lecture rooms in the Euler area.
Some
music and entertainment will add to the good atmosphere of the
event. There will be simple catering services in the parking
lots and in the cafeteria.
For the Makers, there will be a concert on the terrace from
20:00 to 22:00, immediately after the closure of the stands.
Volunteers are welcome to join.
The Province has authorized Trieste Trasporti to provide increased bus frequency to/from Trieste so that visitors can reach us by public transportation. The Regione has similarly authorized Trenitalia to have all regional /local trains stop on the Miramare station during the event.
