WHAT'S ON THIS WEEKEND                        27 February - 2 March 2014

Quote of the day

I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.

The main building was built in 1858, designed by Friedrich Hitzig and later on, in 1907 the City acquired the Brunner Building located nearby in order to expand the original collection. The villa was used by the Allies, as their headquarter after WW2, as can be seen by the marks on the tiles and walls where the telephone and electric leads were brought through.
