Dear Customer,
we would update you about the European air traffic controllers strike planned for 29th January
2014. Air traffic controllers join the ATCEUC in 28 countries throughout Europe; the strike, if confirmed,
could have a very strong impact, with delays and cancellations.
Impact and info
Compared to previous communications, there are following changes:
· in France, the National Union of Air Traffic Controllers (SNCTA) cancelled its plans for a five-day
strike Jan. 27-31. Additional unions will likely strike on 30th January; further details on the
time period of the action are not currently known.
· In Germany, the Union of Air Traffic Control (GdF) has cancelled plans to stage a one-hour strike
on Jan. 29; expect normal airspace operations.
Strikes are confirmed in following countries:
· in Italy, ATCs will strike 1300-1700 Jan. 29, and 1500-1515 Jan. 30.
· in Cyprus, ATCs will stage a four-hour strike 1400-1800 Jan. 29.
· in Austria, ATCs will strike 0900-1100 Jan. 30.
· in Czech Republic, Unionized ATCs will stage a work-to-rule action 0700-1900 Jan. 30; expect flight
delays.
· in Hungary, the Hungarian Air Traffic Controller Association (LIFSZ) will stage a two-hour strike
0900-1100 on Jan. 30; cancellations are possible on flights through Budapest Airport (BUD).
· in Portugal, the Portuguese Union of Air Traffic Controllers (SINCTA) will strike 0700-0900 and
1400-1600 Jan. 29; expect severe disruptions, including on flights through Lisbon Airport (LIS).
· in Slovakia, Unionized ATCs will strike 0900-1100 Jan. 30.
Other countries could join the strike in the next few days, but it is also possible that the European
Commission to intervene and the strike is revoked.

tomorrow.
