NOTICE TO ALL SCIENTISTS AND STAFF

2013 CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FESTIVITIES ARRANGEMENTS AT ICTP

Please note that, on the occasion of the forthcoming festivities, the Centre will be closed from Saturday, 21 December 2013 to Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive.

ICTP Staff will not be on duty during this period.

In order to facilitate the closure of the buildings, all Scientists and Staff are kindly requested to leave the premises not later than 18:00 hrs. on Friday, 20 December, and ensure that all electrical equipment in their offices is switched off.

During this period, periodical and extraordinary maintenance works will be carried out. Therefore the following will apply:

BUILDINGS

• E. Fermi Building and the MLab will be closed for the entire period. Access will be possible through the main entrance of the building with the badges. No heating will be provided.

• Leonardo da Vinci building: access will be possible through the main entrance of the building with the badges. No heating will be provided.
• Due to extraordinary maintentance works in the Leonardo da Vinci building, the power supply will be cut down on Monday, 23 December 2013 from 8:00 to 13:00 hrs.

• The Adriatico Guest House and the Galileo Guest House will be closed for the entire period.

COMMUNICATIONS AND IT EQUIPMENT at ICTP

On Monday, 23 December 2013, starting from 7:00 to 13:00, the administrative servers (SIS, FMS, WebSis, Phonebook) will be shut down.

GUEST HOUSES

The last working day at the ADRIATICO Guest House will be Friday, 20 December 2013; at the GALILEO Guest House it will be Monday, 23 December 2013. Both guesthouses will open again on Tuesday, 7 January 2014, at 7:00 hrs.

CAFETERIAS AND BARS

• ADRIATICO CAFETERIA: closed from Friday, 20 December 2013, after lunch, until Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive.

• LEONARDO BUILDING CAFETERIA AND BAR: closed from Friday, 20 December 2013, after lunch, until Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive.

Both cafeterias will open again on Tuesday, 7 January 2014 as per normal timetable.

The LIBRARY will close at 17:00 hrs. on Friday, 20 December 2013 and reopen on Tuesday, 7 January 2014.

The BANK at the Fermi Building will be closed from Monday 23 December 2013 until Monday 6 January 2014 inclusive. In case of need, the Unicredit Bank branch 13 at Barcola will be open during this period, except on 25 and 26 December 2013, 1 and 6 January 2014.  On 24 and 31 December they will close at 12:45.

The TRAVEL AGENCY Carlson Wagonlit Co. at the Fermi Building will be closed from Saturday, 21 December 2013, to Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive. For your travel arrangements during this period, you may contact Francesco La Rosa by phone +39 025 8034517 or fax +39 010 417911 or by email genova1@cwtbook.it (except on 25 and 26 December 2013, 1 and 6 January 2014).

The Allianz INSURANCE Company at the Fermi Building will be closed from Saturday, 21 December 2013, to Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive. If necessary, you can go to their downtown office in via Locchi 19/A (phone +39 040 312400) during this period (except on 25, 26 and 27 December 2013, 1 and 6 January 2014. On 24 and 31 December the office will close at 12:00).

The MEDICAL SERVICES will be closed from Saturday, 21 December 2013 to Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive. In case of emergency, contact the Security personnel (phone: +39 040 2240606).

The POSTAL SERVICES will be closed from Monday, 23 December 2013 to Monday, 6 January 2014 inclusive. For shipments, the Mail Office in Barcola will be open during this period, except on 25 and 26 December 2013, 1 and 6 January 2014).

FIELD SECURITY RELATED NEEDS: in case one travels abroad during the Christmas festivities and happens to come to serious problems, one should first contact the CSA in the country. The contact details are available in the security clearance message received from the TRIP system. Eventually, the ICTP Security personnel  (phone: +39 040 2240606) may be approached for the contact details.

All our services will be resumed on Tuesday, 7 January 2014.
