Inauguration today at 18.30 BURQA, a solo exhibition with paintings and photographs by Qing Yue, at the Sala Comunale Art Gallery in Piazza Unità 4. Last days to visit the
Contemporary Art Exhibition "BIENNALE DIFFUSA" (closing on 27 Nov):  This exhibition is an extension of the 54th International Venice Biennale event and is held at "Magazzino 26" in the old port of Trieste. From ICTP, take bus nr 6 and stop in Viale Miramare at the bus stop right after the main entrance of the show, ask the driver in case. It takes a 5-minute walk to reach the building, Magazzino 26. “ARTEFATTO 2011/2012 - MOTUS URBIS”,
dedicated to young and talented regional and international artists ongoing until 20 Nov the art works and photography exhibitions will be held at the Miela Theatre and Stazione Rogers on the Rive, every day from 17:00 - 20:00 until 20 Nov. Photography exhibition  "Quetzal" at the LipanjePuntin art gallery in Via Diaz 4 ongoing until 25 Nov. The artist is Fulvio Eccardy, a biologist and professional photographer who lives in Mexico and has dedicated his life to the preservation of nature and its biodiversity especially the conservation of the biosphere of the Chiapas Mountains. Revoltella Museum "Corrispondenze d' Arte"
at the Contemporary Art Section with new works and installations, crafts, photos dislocated in different areas of the Museum, from the ground level to the 6th floor.  Ongoing until 4 December. Entrance ticket euro 6. Open daily (except Tuesday) from 10:00 - 19:00.

 

CLASSICAL MUSIC

Operetta Music at the Sala del Ridotto "Victor de Sabata' at the Verdi Theatre: "Operetta in Tricolore" today at 18:00 with the best airs of Italian Operetta with soprano Maria Giovanna Michelini and Ilaria Zanetti and tenor Andrea Binetti, accompanied on the piano by Reana De Luca. All performances are organized by the Associazione Internazionale dell'Operetta. Tickets euro 8/pers can be purchased directly at the Verdi theatre box office (Tues - Fri 8:30 - 12:30/ 15:30 - 19:00 and Sat 9:00 - 16:00), or one hour before the show (the ticket office is closed Sundays and Mondays).

Nicolai (1810-1849) Overture "Le allegre comari di Windsor" (The Merry Wives of Windsor) - Nino Rota (1911-1979) Concerto for violoncello and orchestra n.1, Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) symphony n. 1 in Do minore op. 68 directed by Corrado Rovaris. There is a 50% reduction on tickets purchased "last minute" (one hour before the show) for all performances directly at the Verdi's ticket office. with the performance of the Clara Schumann Choir and the Corale Nuovo Accordo, in collaboration with the Cappella Tergestina, and the Choirs seniors and juniors of the Liceo Oberdan. Chiesa di Montuzza Choir Music Concerts "In Somno Pacis", on Sunday 20 Nov at 20:30 with "Vox Eucumenica" and "Jacobus Gallus". The church is located near the San Giusto Castle and can be reached by bus 24. bus 24.


Classical Music Concert at the Miramare Castle on Tuesday 22 Nov at 20:30 in the Throne Room with the Fontanella Ensemble (a recorder quintet) from the U.K with a repertoire that encompasses all periods of music from medieval  to contemporary music, including renaissance, baroque fand jazz arrangements. Tartini Music Conservatory "Wednesday Night Concerts",
free and open to all prior to booking. Forthcoming on Wednesday 23 Nov at 20:30: "Viaggio nella Musica Corale da Camera", choir chamber music with music by Haydn, Brahms, Tchaikovsky with mezzosoprano Margarita Swarczewskaja and Nicola Colocci, pianist. The Conservatory is situated in via Ghega 12, close to the Central Train Station. CINEMA & ENTERTAINMENT

The Italian-American Association in via Roma 15 in Trieste presents every Friday at 18:00 a documentary in English regarding American Society, culture, politics and art followed by a discussion in English. MISCELLANEOUS

"Travelling Africa 2011" in collaboration with the Province of Trieste, the Associazione di Cooperazione Cristiana Internazionale and Jerioth Nchang for the Associazione Donne Africa, have organized a number of initiatives:

Friday 18 Nov at the Scuola per Interpreti in via Filzi 4 at 17:30, a film documentary on international cooperation in Africa, followed by an open debate with prof. Franco Crevatin, Marco Fintina (ACCRI volunteer in Chad) and Siri Nangah Spora (Donne Africa).
Monday 21 November there will be an "African Dinner" “Mii ntshia ntsu buù ” at the Pizzeria Mediterranneo (Strada per Longera 177) at 19:00, with genuine African cuisine prepared by lady members of the Association followed by the NOPPAW campaign for the promotion of the Nobel Prize for African women. "Lunedi' dello Schmidl" (Mondays at the Schmidl, the theatre museum at Palazzo Gopcevich in via Rossini) from 21 Nov - 26 March. In collaboration with the Trieste Municipality, the History and Art Museum and the Scuola di Musica 55, the museum has organized a number of events, talks, music presentations and concerts that will take place on Mondays to promote the history of Trieste's longstanding tradition theatre, opera and music performances. "Gioco che Passione" every Sunday at the Stazione Rogers (Riva Grumula 14), there are interesting talks (in Italian) held at 11:00 on a wide range of topics and issues ranging form philosophy, to esthetics and Science. This Sunday 20 Nov, a talk by Daniele Amati will give a talk on the structure of language.

Revoltella Museum Art Workshop for Children with Carlotta Bulatti, graphic designer and cartoonist (she collaborates with the Walt Disney) and she is also a professional soloist singer. The aim is to teach and help children to express their creativity whilst listening to classical music (Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven e Tchaikovsky). The workshops are on Saturdays from 15:00 - 18:00 and on Sundays from 10:00 - 13:00 on the following dates: 26- 27 Nov, 10 - 11 Dec, 17 - 18 Dec, 14 - 15 Jan and 28 - 29 January. GUIDED WALKING TOUR IN NATURE

On Sunday 20 November, Claudio Salvalaggio, a specialist in wildlife and nature will take you on a 4 hours walk from Sistiana, along the Rilke path, to the Timavo river and through the Cernizza woods highlighting the carsic geologic phenomena and beautiful autumn nature and colours. Meeting point and departure time is fixed at 9:30 at the IAT in Sistiana (Information and Tourist Office), reachable with APT airport bus 51. "Il Giovane Tiepolo, alla scoperta della Luce”, at the Castle of Udine, ongoing until Dec 4, Tues - Sun 10:30 - 17:00. 33 works by Tiepolo in his early period before his stay in Udine in 1726. Villa Manin di Passariano in the Province of Udine

"Espressionismo" at Villa Manin di Passariano in the Province of Udine ongoing until 5 March 2012 with 100 works from the Brücke Museum of Berlin. Works by Kirchner, Heckel, Nolde, Schimdt-Rottluff, Pechstein and Mueller representing the 1905 "Die Brücker " movement in Dresden, forerunner of the expressionist movement.
