ART & CULTURAL EXHIBITIONS

Last day tomorrow -ending at midday- at the Adriatico Guesthouse Photography exhibit 'URBAN 2011", many interesting photos of Trieste and elsewhere, don't miss it!. The organizers have asked whomever visits the show to write to the photographers if they like their photos as their email addresses are clipped on the titles.

Today at 18.30 inauguration of art show "cuBIT - la forma del pensiero razionale"(the shape of rational thought) by Alessio Iurman, creator of the first "abacus of elementary logic. Open every day until 16 November, 10-13 and 17-20.

Ongoing at the Cara' Museum in Muggia, art show  "Convergenze" (Convergences) by 3 artists: Ferluga, Perini and Zurlo. Open until 13 November, Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10-12 and 17-20, Sundays: 10-12

Contemporary Art Exhibition "BIENNALE DIFFUSA":  This exhibition is the Friuli Venezia Giulia pavilion of the renown 54th International Venice Biennale event organized by famous art critic Vittorio Sgarbi and is held at "Magazzino 26" in the old port of Trieste. From ICTP, take bus nr 6 and stop in Viale Miramare at the bus stop right after the main entrance of the show, ask the driver in case. It takes a 5-minute walk to reach the building, Magazzino 26. Entrance tickets for ICTP scientists, visitors and staff - bring your ICTP badge along - euro 6. You can take bus 6 or 36 that will drop you on the main road (viale Miramare) and then proceed by foot. Open until 27 November 2011.

"Evraiki", the Mediterranean diaspora from Corfu to Trieste" at the Carlo and Vera Wagner Museum in via del Monte 5. Ongoing until 20 Jan 2012. Entrance euro 5.

SPECIAL GUIDED TOUR

"A classical tour of Trieste" on Saturday 29 October at 10:30:  A 2-hr guided walking tour downtown to visit the main of this lovely city.  The tour is in Italian and English and costs euro 5/pers. Venice Biennial - Biennale di Venezia, the 54th International Art Exhibition at the Giardini and Arsenale and other spots in Venice. This year's theme is "ILLUMInations" and is set up in the Central Pavilion forming a single itinerary with 83 artists from all over the world. Villa Manin di Passariano in the Province of Udine

"Espressionismo" at Villa Manin di Passariano in the Province of Udine ongoing until 5 March 2012 with 100 works from the Brücke Museum of Berlin. Works by Kirchner, Heckel, Nolde, Schimdt-Rottluff, Pechstein and Mueller representing the 1905 "Die Brücker " movement in Dresden, forerunner of the expressionist movement.
