The Innovation Journey of Wi-Fi

About the speaker:

Victor Hayes, nicknamed “the Father of Wi-Fi”, was born in Surabaya, Netherlands-Indies at that time, in 1941. He repatriated with his family in 1950 to the Netherlands and received his B.E. degree from the “HTS Amsterdam” in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1961.

He served as Co-Founder (1990) and first time Chair of IEEE 802.11, Working Group for Wireless LANs (9.75 years of Chairmanship) and later as Ombudsman Radio Regulations at the IEEE 802 Executive Committee (2000-2002).

He was the Founder and first time Chair of the Regulatory Committee at the Wi-Fi Alliance, the Industry Association related to IEEE 802.11 (2001-2003).
