ICTP CINEFORUM TONIGHT: "Abre
los Ojos' (open your eyes), a Spanish - French - Italian co-production,
directed by Alejandro Amenábar, in Spanish with English subtitles. The
story of
a handsome rich boy who falls in love just to wake up into a nightmare.
A play
about the perception of reality and the fiction of relationships, the
Spanish
way. THE FILM WILL BE PROJECTED IN THE MAIN LECTURE HALL AT THE
LEONARDO
BUILDING at 19:30. FREE ENTRANCE.
CLASSICAL MUSIC (FREE)

Miramare Concerts every Friday at 20:30 and ongoing
until 17 September with the Tartini Music
Conservatory. The concerts are free and held in the Throne Room, but
you must
pay the entrance ticket to the Castle for the evening: euro 4/head. Friday 3 Sept: "Romantic
North" with Mitsugu Harada on the Double Bass and Aurora Sabia on
the
piano, traditional Irish music and music by Koussevitzky, Glazunov,
Scriabin,
Mussorgsky, Gilere and Misek. Places
will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
ART EXHIBITION
"LaBORAtorio" at Palazzo Costanzi, Piazza Piccola (close to Trieste's Municipality and Piazza Unità), an interesting exhibition on Trieste's famous wind "Bora" with art works by Triestin artists, objects, photos, postcards, films and documentaries recalling Trieste's story and culture. The exhibition is ongoing until 12 Sept, everyday 10:00 - 13:00 /17:00 - 20:00
Mirò, "Il Poeta del Colore" (the poet of colours)
ongoing until 7 November at the Scuderie di Miramare (ex-horse stables
of the
Miramare Castle close to the main entrance gate). The exhibition is a
collection of Mirò's art prints, lithographs, watercolours combined
with poetic
verses by the artist himself. Open from Tues - Sun 10:00 - 18:30.

On the occasion of the European Day for Jewish Culture on 5 Sept, there will be two special walking tours at 10:00 9 meeting point in Via del Monte) to visit the Jewish Museum and then stroll until the Synagogue and at 16:00 the same with departure from the Synagogue to the Museum. The following Jewish sites will be open to the public: The Synagogue in Piazza Giotti with guided tours at 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00, the Jewish cemetery in via della Pace at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00 and the Museum open 9:30 - 11:00 / 15:30 - 19:30
