Special
guided tour by coach to:
AQUILEIA and
GRADO on Saturday 24 July (afternoon)
AQUILEIA is one
of
the most interesting sites in the Region, an ancient marshland
settlement, with
a 700-year Roman period dating back to 181 B.C. There are old Roman
mosaics in
the Basilica and old Roman ruins spread out in a lovely landscape.
The next stop will be in GRADO, a small
town built on a lagoon with many historical connections with Venice and
Aquileia. You may go to the
beach there or choose to visit the city with our guide.
Please wear comfortable shoes and a cap, take some water with you as it
may be quite hot while you are touring. You may also stop for
refreshments.
The
discounted contribution requested for the tour is only euro 5/head payable when you sign up.
THE MEETING POINT with our English-speaking guide, Ms Paola Alzetta, is
fixed at 13:50 in Grignano at bus stop 6. Return
time to Trieste will be at approximately 20:00.
