CLASSICAL MUSIC

Verdi Overtures and most famous Opera songs at the Sala Tripcovich on Thursday 10 June at 20:30 with the Verdi Orchestra and the Choir directed by Maestro Nello Santi. Opera music and songs from: Giovanni d'Arco, Don Carlo, Il Trovatore, Ernani, Rigoletto, I Vespri Siciliani, Aida. Tickets can be purchased directly at the Verdi Ticket Box: Tues - Fri 8:30/12:30, 15:30-19:00, Sat (9:00 - 16:00) or one hour before the show directly at the Tripcovich Theatre. Ticket prices range from euro 9 to15 and last minute tickets cost euro 5. The theatre is situated close to the Central Train Station.

 
Operetta music on Wednesday 16,  Fri 23 and Sun 30 June: "Aspettando il Festival" (Waiting for the Festival) with solo singers performing famous operetta airs at the Ridotto del Verdi inside the Verdi Theatre, Sala Victor de Saba, at 18:00. Tickets can be purchased directly at the Verdi Ticket office (fixed price euro 8) open on Tues - Fri 8:30/12:30, 15:30-19:00, Sat 9:00 - 16:00 and Sunday 30 June one hour before the show.


Ballet at the Trieste Verdi Theatre from 12 - 19 June: with the Antonio Marquez Ballet Company from Spain and the extraordinary participation of choreographer Paco Romero. Performances on 12 - 13 - 15 - 16 - 17 - 18 and 19 June.
There is a 50% reduction on tickets purchased "last minute" (one hour before the show) for all performances directly at the Verdi's ticket office. Chamber Music
for piano and percussions on Thursday 10 June at 20:00 at the Teatro dei Salesiani, in via dell'Istria 53. The music is played by the Tartini Music Conservatory students and is free. Music by Chopin, Liszt and Shostakovich.


Bach Music
on Sun 13 June at 11:30 at the Lutheran Church in largo Panfili 1 (close to the Central Post Office). Free entrance. The concert is a flute and cymbal duo. Check: http://www.chiesaluterana.it


ART EXHIBITION

Mirò, "Il Poeta del Colore" (the poet of colours) ongoing until 7 November at the Scuderie di Miramare (ex-horse stables of the Miramare Castle close to the main entrance gate). The exhibition is a collection of Mirò's art prints, lithographs, watercolours combined with poetic verses by the artist himself. Open from Tues - Sun 10:00 - 18:30. Entrance ticket euro 5. 


GUIDED TOURS

Carsiana Botanical Garden in Sgonico. Carsiana is open Tue – Fri 10:00 /13:00, Sat and Sun (and holidays) 10:00- 13:00/ 15:00 – 19:00. Take bus 46 from Piazza Oberdan and then reach Sgonico by buses 42 or 44. There are guided tours every Sunday at 16:00 and 17:00. ENTERTAINMENT

For those who are fond of Latin and Caribbean dancing, the "Paradiso" dance hall in via De Franceschi 3, is open every Friday night at 22:00. Free entrance but you must pay for your drink! Take bus 20. 

Every Sunday at "Swim" in viale Miramare, live music from 18:00 - 21:00. This  Sunday 13 June there will be funk jazz live music. Free entrance but you must pay for your drinks!


MISCELLANEOUS

Flea Market in Muggia on Sunday 13 June in Piazza della Repubblica starting at 8:00 until sunset. You may reach Muggia by boat from Trieste or by bus n 20. Check http://www.triestetrasporti.it and click on "servizi marittimi" for the Delfino Verde ferry boat timetable.


Summer ferries to Grado: Everyday departure from Molo Audace in Trieste (close to Piazza Unità) at 08:00, 13:00 and 16:50. One way ticket: euro 5,70 / return 8,65. Check:  http://www.aptgorizia.it/cms/data/pages/servizi_marittima.aspx


Ferry boats to Slovenia ongoing until September
from Tuesday to Sunday to the Slovenian and Croatian coastal towns of Portorose, Pirano, Parenzo and Rovigno. Departure from Molo IV ("Dock IV" - 5 minutes walk form the Train Station). Timetables and prices available at the Info Point, website under construction: http://www.triestelines.it
