CARNIVAL TIME!

IN MUGGIA 11 - 16 February: There will be with all kinds of shows, live music, dancing in and around the city's main square, Piazza Marconi, starting today until 16 February. There will a Carnival Parade with around 2000 participants in the parade on Sunday at 13:30. For more info please check: http://www.turismofriuliveneziagiulia.it/eventi

You can reach Muggia by bus n. 20. On Sat 13 and Tuesday 16 Feb bus 20   will be running regularly until 21:30 and there will be special return buses from 23:30 until 05:00. On Sunday 14 Feb, bus 20 will run regularly all day until midnight and there will be mini-shuttle buses from the "Molo Balota" parking area to the city center starting starting at 12:00. TRIESTE is also celebrating carnival with parades, shows, live music, kiosks and all sorts of entertainments mainly in Piazza Ponte Rosso and Piazza Unità. There will be a Carnival Parade on Tuesday at 14:00 leaving from Piazza Oberdan through the city's main streets ending in  Piazza Unità where there will be a  concert with the local "Bandomat" band. There will also be a parade in Opicina on Sat 13 at 14:00. (take the tram or bus 4 from Piazza Oberdan)

MONFALCONE has the biggest parade of the area with about 3000 participants! You may reach Monfalcone by taking the Apt 51 bus (the airport bus).

MUSIC

The Tartini Music Conservatory in via Ghega offers a series of free concerts every Wednesday night at 20:30. You have to telephone the Conservatory the day before in the morning (tel: 040 6724911) before each concert (i.e. Tuesday) to reserve a place. Please be there half an hour before the show. On the occasion of the Carnival Period, there will be a free-guided tour of the city of Muggia on Sunday 14 February. Meeting point at 10:30 in Piazza Marconi with the guide; the tour will be in Italian.

REDUCED ENTRANCE TICKET TO MIRAMARE CASTLE ON 13 AND 14 FEBRUARY.

On the occasion of "Valentine's Day", the Miramare Museum is offering 2 tickets for the price of one, which include a free guided tour of the exhibition "Il Bacio, un Capolavoro per l'Italia" by the Italian artist Franceso Hayez (1791 - 1892) who best represented Italian Romanticism in art. FILMS IN ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

At the Miela Theatre "Film Outlet" every Wednesday in February, in collaboration with the Cappella Underground film association, there will be a series of films projected in their original soundtrack with Italian subtitles. ART & EXHIBITIONS

Solo exhibition by the artist Giovanni Talleri inaugurated on 27 January at the Risiera di San Sabba museum, the only concentration camp in Italy. The artist's works are a collection of drawings and paintings inspired by his experience as a prisoner in Dachau in 1944-45 with themes that strongly affected him. The exhibition is open daily from 9:00 - 19:00 until May, in Via Palatucci 5. Bus 10.

"Mila e la Notte", an exhibition of famous fashion designer Mila Schön who passed away a year ago. The exhibition displays 63 unique high-fashion dresses from the 1960s. The exhibit is open daily from 10:00 - 20:00 at the Salone degli Incanti, Riva Nazario Sauro  (close to Piazza Unità), bus 8. Entrance fee euro 3,00. Ongoing until 18 March. In Gorizia there are 3 interesting futurist art exhibitions ongoing till 28 February.
