MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

Baroque Music Festival organized by the Associazione socio-culturale Panta Rhei in three different churches this weekend: Fri 15 Jan at the Lutheran Church in Largo Panfili with the Ensemble Nova Academia di Trieste at 19:00. Sat 16 Jan at the San Silvestro Church (close to the San Giusto Castle, facing the Comune) at 19:00 with the Baroque music Ensemble from Slovenia and on Sun 17 Jan at the Chiesa Lutherana with the Romanian Flute Ensemble at 17:00. Free entrance.

Sunday Concert at the Revoltella Museum on Sun 17 Jan at 11:00, the Nuova Orchestra Busoni will perform music by Mozart and Ferrari. The museum is situated in Via Diaz 27 close to Piazza Venezia, take bus 8. Entrance fee: euro 6,00. See: http://www.museorevoltella.it

Free at the Tartini Music Conservatory in Via Ghega offers a series of free concerts every Wednesday. Forthcoming concert "Il Fascino Romantico del Canto" with Nicolaj Pintar (Baritono) and Margarita Swarczewkaja (Mezzo Soprano), music by Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Brahms next Wed 20 Jan 2010 at 20:30.

Free every Friday: "Sunrise goes to Viale 39", live music with Bandomat band + Dj Al at the Viale 39 Bar, in Viale 20 Settembre 39. See http://www.viale39.com

ART EXHIBITIONS

"Mila e la Notte", an exhibition of famous fashion designer Mila Schön who passed away a year ago. The exhibition displays 63 unique high-fashion dresses from the 1960s. The exhibit is open daily from 10:00 - 20:00 at the Salone degli Incanti, Riva Nazario Sauro  (close to Piazza Unità), bus 8. Entrance fee euro 3,00. Ongoing until 18 March. A Darwin 2009 exhibit at ICTP - ICTP's ongoing exhibit at the Leonardo building on Darwin and evolution, celebrating the bicentennial of Darwin' s birth. Details are described at http://events.ictp.it/ictp/darwin-evoluzione-e-scienza
