EXHIBITIONS

Inauguration of an exhibition "Nuvole a Trieste" with around 200 drawings by six well-know Italian comic-strip designers Alberti, Chendi, Devescovi, Colombani and the Pastovicchio brothers at Palazzo Costanzi, in Piazza Piccola 2 (close to Piazza Unità) on Sat 28 Nov at 18:00. The exhibition is open to the public every day from 10:00 - 13:00/ 17:00 - 20:00 until 15 Dec.

 

A Darwin 2009 exhibit at ICTP

ICTP's ongoing exhibit on Darwin and evolution, celebrating the bicentennial of Darwin' s birth, runs until 11 December. Details are described at http://events.ictp.it/ictp/darwin-evoluzione-e-scienza.

 

ENTERTAINMENT

Free concert at the San Giusto Castle on Sat 28 Nov at 20:30 "Red Rose Four" (from Holland), a ladies' flute ensemble with Kitty de Geus, soprano. See: http://www.wunderkammer.fvg.it

 

"Mattinate Musicali at the Revoltella Museum" has resumed on Sundays at the Auditorium at 11:00. Entrance ticket to the Museum and the concert is euro 6,00. This Sun 29 Nov: "Microkosmos - Ensemble Musicale Italiano", texts by Martinetti and music by F. Samale. Please purchase your ticket half an hour before the concert in order to find a seat as it is on a first-come first-served basis. Miela Theatre:

Friday 27 Nov at 21:30, live music and concert with Ampara Sanchez, one of the most representative voices of Spain, best known with her former group Amparanoia (that won the BBC Interanional music award for best European group), presents a new repertoire with a mix of Caribbean, jazz, bolero and son music. Sunday 29 Nov at 20:30, on the occasion of the Trieste International Tango Festival, the Associazione Musicale Buenos Aires has organized a concert on Sun 29 Nov at 20:30: the Peter Soave & Rucner String Quartet will play music by Piazzola. "Autumn Concerts" at the Tartini Music Conservatory in Trieste." A French evening", Wednesday 2 Dec at 20:30. Soprano Martine Deschamps and Domitile Bèe on the piano, music by Massenet, Poulenc, Langlais and Messiaen. Free entrance on a first-come first-served basis. GUIDED TOURS

Pansepol Travel in collaboration with the Province of Trieste has organized two guided tours on Sun 6 December by coach.  Morning: A trip to the rock of Monrupino, the Rilke path and the Via Gemina by bus with a guide, and in the afternoon, the villages of the Carso with a guide and a professional photographer. On the occasion of the XII International Festival of Poetry, on Thursday 26 Nov at 17:30 at the Teatro dei Fabbri in via dei Fabbri 2/a (near Piazza Hortis - bus 30) there will be an evening dedicated to Jalal al Din Rumi, the mystic Persian poet, presented by Dr. Amir Madani.The poems  will be read by Azizeh Esmailzadeh and Maryam Khoshravana followed by a Persian music concert by Darioush Madani and Dena Khoshravan.
