EXHIBITIONS

"Berlin 1989" 8 Nov - 8 Dec  is a cultural event dedicated to the fall of the Berlin wall. at palazzo Gopcevich in Via Rossini 4.There will be a series of film projections, lectures and a photography exhibition to commemorate this event. Opening of the event will be a lecture given by Ernst Nolte on Monday 9 Nov at the Museo Revoltella at 18:00. 


Inauguration of a new exhibition: "X Biennale Giuliana d'Arte"
with a solo exhibition of Villibossi's sculptures and a joint exhibition "Top Artists Gallery" at Palazzo Costanzi in Piazza Piccola 2 (close to Piazza Unità) on Fri 6 Nov at 18:00. Ongoing until 24 Nov (10:00 -13:00 / 17:00 - 20:00) every day.


Solo art exhibition: Nelda Stravisi,
sculptures, paintings and graphics. Galleria San Giusto, via Conti 1/2, Trieste. Mrs. Stravisi, the talented mother of a scientist, has been on the Trieste art scene for over 60 years. Ongoing until 16 November (18:00 - 20:00 ), Mondays through Fridays.


Collezione "Arte e Industria Stock",
a collection of famous works of art including some masterpieces by Guttuso, Annigoni and De Chirico that once belonged to the Stock family and is now the property of the Fondazione CRTrieste. The exhibition is in via Cassa di Risparmio n.3, 3rd floor. Solo art exhibition: Marcus Petrus: "Trieste al Centro"

MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

"Ecos Popolares de Iberoamerica "(Popular Echoes of Latin-America): Laura Antonaz sings poems by Garcia Lorca accompanied on the guitar by the Argentinian musician Eduardo Contizanetti at the Casa della Cultura di Col Monrupino (in the Carso) on Sunday 8 Nov at 18:00. Bus 42 from Piazza Oberdan. Free entrance.


"Autumn Concerts" at the Tartini Music Conservatory
in Trieste has a series of free concerts every Wednesday evening at 20:30. Seats are available on a first-come first-served basis. For a complete programme see: http://www.conservatorio.trieste.it/. This coming Wednesday 11 Nov: Organ Recital with Elizabeta Zalovic, music by Klobucar, Ebem, Hakim, Rogg and Josipovic.


"Trieste Prima 2009"
  presents a series of classical and contemporary music concerts organized by the Asssociazione Musica Contemporanea in collaboration with the Biennale Musica Zagabria, the RAI, the Tartini Music Conservatory and others. "Tenebrae Factae Sunt",
coral music with the Odhecalon Ensemble, music by Gaspar van Weerbeke, Scipione, Stella, Giaches de Wert Gesulado da Venosa at the Chiesa della Beata Vergine del Rosario on Fri 6 Nov at 20:30 (organized by the Associazione Epicantica - Wunder kammer. GUIDED TOURS on Sunday

The association "Curiosi di Natura" is offering a number of free-organized guided tours in the Carso on the occasion of the event taking place in November, "Sapori del Carso - Flavours of the Karst". Each tour will be centered on a specific theme and will be focusing on certain aspects of the Carso. The excursions are all by foot and last around 3 hours (9:30 - 12:30). At the end of each excursion there is the possibility of eating out in one of the "Trattorias" of the Carso that are taking part in this initiative. You will be given a 10% discount on the food at the following trattorias: Daneu and Veto in Opicina, Krizman in Monrupino, Gustin in Sgonico, Risto Bar Grotta in Borgo Grotta Gigante, Il Petirosso and La Lampara in S. Croce and Sardoc in Precenico.

Sunday 8 Nov: Excursions to Mount Orsario with a focus on wild animals living in the Carso. Meeting point at the Casa Carsica at. 9:15 in Monrupino.Bus 42 from Piazza Oberdan. Fee for particiption: euro 10,00/adults and 5,00/children.

Next tour on Sun 15 Nov: An excursion around the villages of Prepotto and Slivia with a focus on the Carsic moors, their history and ecology. Meeting point in San Pelagio (Duino Aurisina) at 9:15. "Mittleciok" is the annual chocolate festival held in and around Piazza Sant'Antonio from 5 - 8 Nov from 10:30 all day.


"San Martino Festival" in Muggia 7 - 8 Nov
from 10:00 - 20:30, in and around the city centre and Piazza Marconi: live music, stands and kiosks with local food products, wine tasting, digital art exhibition at the Museo Ugo Carrà, guided tours, flea market. You can reach Muggia by boat ( Delfino Verde from Molo Bersaglieri, close to Piazza Unità) or by bus (n.20). Check http://www.comune.muggia.ts.it


Seminar on Balkan folk dances

Events outside Trieste

For wine enthousiasts, on the occasion of "San Martino in Cantina" which will take place next weekend in the Friuli Region on 14 and 15 Nov, there will be organized guided tours leaving from Trieste in the morning or afternoon.
