GUIDED TOURS on Sunday 1 November

The local travel agency Pansepol in collaboration with the Province of Trieste is organizing 3 guided tours on Sunday 1 Nov:

1) A Walking tour in Trieste with a professional photographer (euro 5,00/each), 2) Mount Lanaro in the Carso with a stop in a local farm for wine tasting and food specialties, euro 5,00/pers, or 3) A visit to the First World War Sites in the Province of Trieste by coach plus a visit to the Victory Lighthouse and refreshments, euro 10,00/pers. The association "Curiosi di Natura" is offering a number of free-organized guided tours in the Carso on the occasion of the event taking place in November, "Sapori del Carso - Flavours of the karst". Each tour will be centered on a specific theme and will be focusing on certain aspects of the Carso. The excursions are all by foot and last around 3 hours (9:30 - 12:30). At the end of each excursion there is the possibility of eating out in one of the "Trattorias" of the Carso that are taking part in this initiative. You will be given a 10% discount on the food at the following trattorias: Daneu and Veto in Opicina, Krizman in Monrupino, Gustin in Sgonico, Risto Bar Grotta in Borgo Grotta Gigante, Il Petirosso and La Lampara in S. Croce and Sardoc in Precenico.

Sunday 1 Nov: "A walk from Santa Croce to Aurisina". The tour (mainly in Italian, but the guide also speaks English) will be centered on the Carso's geology, its agriculture and the wines produced. EXHIBITIONS

Collezione "Arte e Industria Stock", a collection of famous works of art including some masterpieces by Guttuso, Annigoni and De Chirico that once belonged to the Stock family and is now the property of the Fondazione CRTrieste. The exhibition is in via Cassa di Risparmio n.3, 3rd floor. Last days for the exhibition of the history of the Serb minority in Trieste at the San Giusto Castle "Genti di San Spiridione. I Serbi a Trieste 1751 - 1914" Ongoing until 4 November.

Traditional folk group from Calabria "Banda Pilusa" is performing at the Casa della Musica in Via Capitelli n.3 (Cavana) on Thurs 29 Oct at 21:00.

Live music at the Corsia Stadion Pub in Via Battisti starting at 21:00. Thursdays live acoustic music, and Fridays and Saturdays pop and rock music. Free entrance.

For wine enthousiasts, there is a special event taking place on Sat 31 Oct: "Spirito di vino" (Wine spirit) gives the opportunity to visit wine estates and take part in wine cellar visits in the provinces of Udine and Gorizia with a guided wine-tasting tour.
