EXHIBITIONS:
New exhibition:  "Genti di San Spiridione. I Serbi a Trieste 1751 - 1914" (the history of the Serb Minority in Trieste) in collaboration with the General Consulate of Serbia, the religious  Serb-Orthodox religious community of Trieste and the History and Art Museums of Trieste. Ongoing until 4 November, at the San Giusto Castle.

New Art exhibition of the Columbian artist Miler Ramirez at the Linea d'Arte gallery in Via Lazzaretto Vecchio entitled:" Colombia: antes y despues Cristobal Colon, dall'arte precolombiana alla pittura di Miller Ramirez"(Columbia, before and after Chistopher Columbus, from pre- Columbian art to the paintings of Ramirez). Open until 8 August Mon-Fri 17:00-20:00 and Sat 10:00 - 13:00.

Art Exhibition of the Ugandan artist Medie Mulindwa at the Libreria Knulp in Via Madonna del Mare 7/A until 16 September.

Photographic exhibition at the Serra di Villa Revoltella (Via de Marchesetti 37) entitled "Il Liberty a Trieste".  Open daily from 16:30-19:30.

Art exhibition" La mostra del Paesaggio", at Sala Umberto Veruda at Palazzo Costanzi (close to Piazza Unita'), Chersicla, Zigaina and Dalisi, are some of the famous artists from this Region that will be exhibiting their works.  Open until 2 August.  More info. 335-6750946.

Museo Ugo Carra' in Muggia: "Museo Rossimoda della Calzatura: Il potere della seduzione" (a selecion of High Fashion Italian shoes design). The exhibition will remain until 29 July with the following opening times: Tues - Sun: 18:30-20:30 and Thurs 10:00-12:00

At the Museo Revoltella, Leonor Fini "L'Italienne de Paris", an Argentine surrealist painter who lived in Trieste in
the early part of her life and subsequently moved to Paris  (1907 - 1996). The exhibition presents a huge collection of 150 works coming from important museums and private Italian, French and American collections, illustrating different periods of the artist's works. MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT
Operetta Festival:
On 17 - 22 and 25 July: at the Verdi Theatre " La Vedova Allegra", tickets on sale at the Verdi Theatre box office.  Website for more info: teatro-verdi-trieste.com

The Trieste Loves Jazz festival is taking place until 23 July. On Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July, there will be concerts at 21:00 in piazza Hortis by the Park Stikney Trio and Touch 'n Go USA-FE Band respectively.  The concerts move to piazza Unita for Sunday 19 (Brazilian percussionist Dudecka Da Fonseca) and Monday 20 (Brenda Rattray Jazz Gospel Band).  You can get more info on www.scuoladimusica55.it or www.triestelovesjazz.com.

Live music organized by Etnoblog at the Ausonia (riva Traiana) each evening.  Entrance usually free if you arrive early (before 23:00), then there is an admission charge between 7-10 Euro which includes one drink.

Other cultural and musical events taking place in the region include: Mittelfest in Cividale (http://www.mittelfest.org/), summer carnival in Muggia (www.carnevaldemuja.com), No Borders Music Festival in Tarvisio (www.nobordersmusicfestival.com) and the Folkest (www.folkest.com) with various concerts throughout the whole region.
 
Every Saturday and Sunday evening from 11 July - 9 August, there will be the annual 'sagra' in Basovizza near the lake with food on sale and live music.
>From Friday 10 July at 18:30 until 19 July, there will be a 'Festa del Mare', (Maritime Festival) near the Stazione Marittima on the waterfront in Trieste not far from Piazza Unita. 

Cantera Social Club in the Sistiana Bay is open during the summer each day from 23:00. You can get to Sistiana with the airport bus 51 and walk down to the bay or take bus 44 from Piazza Oberdan.  Bus 73 takes you down to the bay, but the last bus up is at 20.06 so be sure not to miss it unless you can cope with the steep climb back up.

FLEA MARKET AND BRIC A BRAC
Every Friday in July, down in Sistiana Bay, in the Parco Caravella, there is a flea market from 18:00 - 23:00

TOURS IN TRIESTE AND SURROUNDINGS: Guided Tour on foot of Trieste’s historical monuments (in Italian and English) at 10:00 daily.  The tour lasts 2 hours and costs Euro 5,00 (children under 12 go free).  Advance booking is necessary, please call the Tourist Bureau in Piazza Unità. The Carsiana Botanical Garden has organized tours in July and August: This week on Sat 18 July, in collaboration with the Miramare Natural Reserve Park there will be a special guided tour on "dangerous species" with a biologist at the Castelletto from 10:00- 12:00 and on Sun 19 July, in Sgonico, a guided tour  at 16:00 and 17:00  on "poisonous plants" of the Carso area (entrance fee Euro 5,00).
