On Saturday 18 July 2009, there will be a special guided tour by coach only for ICTP visitors and families to Udine (about 80 km from Trieste) with an English-speaking guide.

Udine, located in the heart of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, is a beautiful medieval Venetian-style city, full of history and culture, dominated by a castle built in the XVI century over Lombard ruins. Visit the Loggia del Lionello (1448) with its Venetian-Gothic architecture, the Castle and its prestigious museums embellished by the frescoes of Giambattista Tiepolo.

The discounted contribution requested for the tour is only 5 euro/head - payable when you sign up. While in Udine, you may decide to go on the extra, optional visit to Tiepolo’s Gallery. The entrance ticket costs 5 euro/head and is payable on the spot.

MEETING POINT at 13:50 near Bus stop 6 in Grignano seaside where you'll see the coach and meet your guide.

DEPARTURE TIME at 14:00 and return at 19:00.  

Come to the Info Point, Leonardo Building, and sign up as soon as possible as it is on a first-come, first-served basis.
