EXHIBITIONS:
New photography exhibition:
"Viaggiando per il Tibet" ( Travelling across Tibet),
at the Sala ex Aruro Fitke, di Piazza
Piccola nr. 3 ( close to Piazza Unita`). A rich collection of photos to
better
illustrates Tibet's culture, traditions, costumes, and Buddhist
religion. Open
everyday from 10:)0 - 13:00 and 17:00 - 20:00 from 2 - 13 July.
Inauguration
of a new exhibition today, Fri 3 July at 18:30 " La mostra del
Paesaggio", at Sala Umberto Veruda at Palazzo Costanzi (close to Piazza
Unita'), Chersicla, Zigaina and Dalisi, are some of the famous artists
from
this Region that will be exhibiting their works.
Museo Ugo Carra' in
Muggia on Monday 29 June at 19:00: "Museo Rossimoda della Calzatura: Il
potere della seduzione" (a selecion of High Fashion Italian shoes
design).
The exhibition will remain until 29 July with the following opening
times: Tues
- Sun: 18:30 -20:30 and Thurs 10:00 - 12:00

"Mozambique:
The Season of the Future" to be
held at the Cultural Association
"Officina", via Manzoni 9-11 Trieste on July, 7th at 7:30 p.m (FREE
ENTRANCE).The exhibition is a collection of photos taken by the
reporter,
Francesco Fantini,during a journey in Mozambique made with Gil, a
former
Mozambican homeless boy.Gil accompanied the reporter from the capital,
Maputo,
throughout the country, along the coasts,inland, as far as his native
village
in the forest where he met his family again after many years.
New
exhibition at the Museo Revoltella, Leonor Fini
"L'Italienne de Paris", an Argentine surrealist
painter who lived in Trieste
in the early part of her life and subsequently moved to Paris (1907 - 1996). The exhibition presents
a huge collection of 150 works coming from important museums and
private
Italian, French and American collections, illustrating different
periods of the
artist's works. Open 4 July - 4

LOCAL EVENTS
Saturday
4 July: "La Notte dei Saldi " (Trieste's shopping night") in Trieste's
downtown shopping district. Shops will go on sale and will be open
until 02:00.
There will also be a series of collateral events, live music, shows and
entertainment in Piazza Ponterosso, Piazza della Repubblica. Corso
Italia,
Piazza di Cavana and Piazza della Borsa (with the biggest "carsolina
cake" - typical from the carso- ever made- 24 m2).
International
Short Film Festival "Maremetraggio", until 4
July. Free entrance. This Fri
3 July: " Hellenic Event", with the projection of the Greek film
"El Greco"by Iannis Staragdis, (dedicated to the life of the famous
painter Dominikos Theotokopoulos of the Renaissance period), starting
at 19:00

Operetta Festival at the Verdi Theatre " La Vedova

Latin
American Music, with "Chirike'" in Malchina
(in the Carso area) on 4 July, in
the town's Main Square at 22:00.
Free entrance. The band plays a rich repertoire of traditional ethnic
music
from Peru, Venezuela and Cuba and the musicians come from different
Latin
American countries. Two of them work as scientists in scientific
institutions
in Trieste. Take bus 44 from Piazza Oberdan until Aurisina, and then
take bus
43 to Malchina. Buses in that area do not run after 20:00. See

Concert
at Civico Orto Botanico (the Botanical Gardens) in Via Marchesetti
nr. 2, on Fri 3 July at 21:00. The band
"First Aid Shadows" will play live cover
pop music from the 90s. Take bus 26 or 26 from Piazza
della Borsa or bus 6 until Viale
XX Settembre and proceed by foot taking the Scala San Luigi.
A play
in Italian in the Miramar Park on
3 - 5 July at 21:00. "Le Voci", and "Il Conde",
written by Claudio Magris and interpreted by two famous Italian actors:
Antonio
Calenda and Kim Rossi Stuart. Tickets cost Eur 15,00 and may be
purchased
directly in the park half an hour before the show. For more info check:

Cantera Social Club in the Sistiana Bay is open during the summer each day from 23:00.
You can get
to Sistiana with the airport bus 51 and walk down to the bay or take
bus 44
from Piazza Oberdan.
