“Festival della Diversità” 12 – 15 June at the San Giovanni park, a “get together” kermess with local bands and Afro-Brazilian music groups, theatre, ethnic dances, exhibitions and workshops different to promote cultural and artistic diversities. Trieste International Exhibition Fair 7 – 15 June, Piazzale de Gasperi. Stands and kiosks with handcrafts from all over the world, tourism, food specialties and a new wellness center. Take bus 18. ART EXHIBITIONS

"MadeInJapan", a collection of photographical-pictorial works by French artist Romain Erkiletlian at the leading art gallery of Trieste LipanjePuntin artecontemporanea in via Diaz 4 (close to Piazza Unità) Open until 31/7/08, visiting time: Tues - Fri 15.30-19.30; Sat 16.30-19.30.

“Medioevo a Trieste” (the Middle Ages in Trieste) from 1 June – 1 Nov, institutions, art, society. An exhibition at the San Giusto Castle with special itineraries. Take bus nr. 24 from the railway station. Visiting times: 9:00 – 19:00. Check website www.retecivica.it

Adriano Visintin, an anthology of 100 sculptures at the Salone degli Incanti (ex-Pescheria), (Riva Nazario Sauro 1, bus 8) 29 May -25 June. Visiting time: 10:00 -13:00 / 16:00 – 22:00.

WINE AND FOOD

“Trieste in Festa, Sagra della Sardella” at Campanelle’s football field. Open 4 days a week (Thurs to Sun) until 17 August.  Kiosks with sardine specialties (sardoni, typical fish from the Adriatic Sea). Music and entertainment each evening. Buses 33 or C.

Fri 13 June: Guided Scientific Tour, visit AREA Science Park, from 10:00 – 13:00. The AREA SCIENCE Park is one of Europe’s main multi-section scientific parks.  Fri 13 June: Poetry recital by the actor Antonio di Lucia “A tribute to Federico Garcia Lorca” at 20:40 at the Auditorium Salone degli Incanti, in Riva Nazario Sauro. Organized by the Associazione Culturale Rinascita, Regione FVG, Assessorato alla Cultura.

LIVE MUSIC – FREE ENTRANCE

Thurs 12 June:

Music Project Chiriké performing in Muggia at 20:45 in the open air in Largo Nazario Sauro (small port of Muggia after the arch).  The musicians come from different countries (Venezuela, Argentina, Italy, Tunisia, Slovenia) and will present and play music from Latin America with traditional and ethnic songs and music, a mix of folklore, with African sounds, traditional songs from Cuba and other Caribbean countries.
