30 May – 2 June: “Duino in Festa” Kiosks, art, music, food and entertainment. Art exhibition: “E all’Orizonte … ancora Blu” by the artist Luis Comelli Lalovich at the Sala Espositiva Le Dimore. On 1 June Jazz concert at 21:00 at the United World College Auditorium.

ART EXHIBITIONS

“Un Magnifico Ritrattista”, Giuseppe Barison, (1853 – 1951), well known for his portraits and water colours, depicting 19th and early 20th century lifestyles in Trieste. At Palazzo Gopcevich in Via Rossini until 29 June, visiting time every day 9:00 – 19:00.

“50 years of History”, a photography – documentary exhibition of the Santorio Hospital, (new SISSA building in the forthcoming years) at the Biblioteca Statale in Largo Papa Giovanni (take bus 8). Visiting time Mon – Fri 8:30 – 18:30, Sat 8:30 – 13:30 until 24 June. Free entrance

“L’Italia Era Già Qui”, a new collection of contemporary works of art at the Modern Art Gallery of the Revoltella Museum. 23 May – 30 Oct.

Adriano Visintin, an anthology of 100 sculptures at the Salone degli Incanti (ex-Pescheria), (Riva Nazario Sauro 1, bus 8) 29 May -25 June. Visiting time: 10:00 -13:00 / 16:00 – 22:00.

30 May - 2 June : “Le Vie del Caffè” (free entrance to all performances),  3 days of music, concerts and theatre to celebrate Trieste’s long standing tradition in the art of coffee making and drinking in the city’s historical coffee houses. Sun 1 June in Piazza Verdi: acrobatic show Kamasutra, produced by Elisa Waldner and Eduardo Danieli, Mon 2 June at Caffè San Marco at 18:00 a play performed by the students of the Accademia Teatrale Città di Trieste ”Un caffè con Riccardo III”, followed by a dance show with the Spanish ballerina Nuria Sala Grau at 21:00.
