ICTP at the 2026 Trieste Maker Faire

Dear All,

The *2026 Trieste Maker Faire* will take place *on Saturday 9 and Sunday 
10 May* in Trieste’s main square, Piazza Unità d’Italia. With the *ICTP 
SciFabLab* as a main promoter, the Trieste Maker Faire is co-organised 
with the municipality, with the support of ICTP, the Comune di Trieste 
and the Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The whole ICTP SciFabLab will move to downtown Trieste during the event, 
joined by a cohort of ICTP researchers, led by the Mathematics section, 
who will take part in the celebrations and entertain passersby with 
*puzzles and games* throughout the weekend.

This Maker Faire will also be the occasion to mark the *centennial of 
ICTP founder Abdus Salam* and celebrate his vision. A special session on 
the life and scientific achievements of Abdus Salam, curated by the ICTP 
Library, will take place on *Saturday 9 May at 16:40 hrs*, just before 
the official opening of the festival.
