New procedures regarding bus tickets

Please be informed that starting today, July 14th 2026, the validating 
machines will no longer be in effect on the buses in Trieste.

The paper tickets can only be validated by using the QR code on the 
underside of the optical reader.

Validation will be confirmed by a green light and a message on the 
display. If the device emits a red light it means that the ticket has 
already been used.

If you are onboard and you don't have a ticket you can tap your 
credit/debit card or your smartphone/smartwatch on the contactless logo 
of the optical reader.
