The Abdelkrim "Karim" Aoudia Memorial Scholarship Fund

Dear Colleagues,

As announced yesterday during the Spirit of Salam Award presentation, 
and as a further memorial to Karim in honor of his many years of 
dedication and service to ICTP, we have launched - as part of our 
fundraising efforts - a campaign to support the *Abdelkrim "Karim" 
Aoudia Memorial Scholarship* Fund. As noted by our Director, Prof. Adnan 
Shihab-Eldin has pledged to match the first €30,000 of our *€300,000* 
goal. Once *this goal* is reached, the scholarship will be awarded in 
Karim's name annually and in perpetuity to an Earth Systems Physics or 
other diploma student from Africa or the Middle East.
