*MAKER FAIRE TRIESTE 2025 (10-11/05/2025)*

Dear ICTP community!

We would like to extend to all staff, researchers, students, fellows and 
friends of ICTP our invitation to be part of Maker Faire Trieste 2025 
and to play an active role in its success!

This 12th edition is co-organised by the ICTP and the Comune di Trieste, 
with the financial contribution of Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, and 
will be held on _Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May in Piazza dell’Unità 
d’Italia in Trieste_.
The opening time for the public will be: SAT 14–20 and SUN 10–18. This 
year the event (that since moving downtown in 2020 has been held in 
September) is finally back to springtime, with the aim to facilitate a 
broader participation of schools.
To re-connect with them we are also organising a special_pre-event, on 
Friday 9 May_ at 10:30 at Cinema Ariston, with a programme dedicated to 
high-school students that includes a scientific/musical show by 
G.Greison and a conference by G.Mussardo (both in Italian, in 
collaboration with SISSA).

Within the Maker Faire, like in the past years, there will be a 
scientific village under the name of “Science Picnic”, with demos and 
interactive activities for the young public, broadly open to all fields 
of science.
As usual, the whole MFTS event will be family-friendly, free and open to 
everyone, and we hope you’ll contribute to fill it with fun and new 
things to discover!
You can personally contribute by:
- organising a laboratory/activity/demo within an ICTP booth (maybe just 
for an hour or so, or more), it would be really great to have many 
activities, representing all ICTP research fields!
- displaying and explaining a scientific exhibit or experiment -even in 
your own booth if you need a larger space- for the whole event. The 
staff of the fablab will be happy to assist you in building parts and 
pieces of your exhibit.
- helping us by becoming part of our volunteer/staff team, we always 
need more hands, feet and heads to run such a rich and fulfilling event :-)
- spreading the word about Maker Faire Trieste and Science Picnic!
