REMINDER: TODAY 7 November 2024 - International Day of Medical Physics

Dear all,

Today, November 7th, is the International Day of Medical Physics and we 
will celebrate this important day hosting an event online (and connected 
from the Giambiagi lecture hall at the Adriatico Guest House, ICTP)

To promote understanding of the valuable contributions made by medical 
physicists to enhance patient care, the International Organization for 
Medical Physics (IOMP) established the annual International Day of 
Medical Physics (IDMP) on November 7. This date holds historical 
significance in the field of medical physics, as it marks the birth of 
Marie Sklodowska-Curie in 1867. She is renowned for her groundbreaking 
work in radioactivity.

Today we commemorate the 12th IDMP at the ICTP, with the theme 
'Inspiring Next generations of Medical Physicists' and we also celebrate 
10 years of the joint UNITS-ICTP Master of Advanced Studies in Medical 
Physics Programme.
