REMINDER---Knocking on Heaven's Door - Lisa Randall at Teatro dei Fabbri Today 21 May at 18:30hrs

Dear All,

An event featuring Harvard astrophysicist and member of the ICTP 
scientific council Lisa Randall, in conversation with Italian science 
journalist Barbara Gallavotti, is taking place today, *Tuesday 21 May, 
from 18:30 to 19:30hrs* at *Teatro dei Fabbri*, via dei Fabbri 2/A, Trieste.

The event is organised by SISSA in collaboration with ICTP as part of 
the local science and literature festival 'Scienza e Virgola' 
<https://www.scienzaevirgola.it/>. It is entitled:'Knocking on Heaven’s 
Door. L'Universo come non lo abbiamo mai conosciuto', and the programme 
of Scienza e Virgola describes it as follows:

“Based on the title of one of her most famous popular science books, 
Harvard astrophysicist Lisa Randall will talk with Italian science 
journalist Barbara Gallavotti about the myriad ways in which science, 
from Galileo to Einstein, has looked at the infinite space that 
surrounds us in an attempt to understand its laws. But there is more to 
Lisa Randall's story: there is the story of how scientists decide what 
problems to tackle and how to go about solving them; of why risk, 
creativity, beauty and truth are the true drivers of scientific thinking.”

The event is free and there is no need to register. It will be 
translated simultaneously.

*Barbara Gallavotti **is a science communicator, a writer, as well as 
the author and presenter of */Quinta Dimensione/***a science program 
**produced by* the Italian national TV channel Rai3.

*Lisa Randall *works on particle physics and cosmology at Harvard 
University. She is a member of the American National Academy of 
Sciences, of the American Philosophical Society and of American Academy 
of Arts and Sciences.
