_Invitation to the 2020 ICO/Gallieno Denardo Award Ceremony, Tomorrow, 
Tuesday 18 February at 16:30_

The ICTP is pleased to announce that the  2020 ICO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo 
Award Ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 18 February 2020 at 
16:30 hrs in the Budinich Lecture Hall.

The ICO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo Award is given annually to researchers 
younger than 40 years of age from a developing country who have made 
significant contributions to the field of optics or photonics.

The recipient of the 2020 ICO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo Award is Dr. Kok 
Sing Lim from the Photonics Research Centre, University of Malaya, Malaysia.

The Award recognizes Dr. Lim's "achievements in the field of optical 
fibre sensing and optical communications, and his substantial 
contributions to sustainable development in Malaysia through promoting 
the use of optics-based technologies in the industrial sector".

Attached is the ceremony's programme.

During the ceremony, the prize winner will deliver the following lecture:

"Few-mode fibre components for mode conversion in spatial division 
multiplexing"
