Invitation to FameLab Italia

The Italian final of FameLab Italia, together with the FameLab All Star 
event, will take place on Monday 31 August 2020 in Trieste at the 
Rossetti Theatre.

ICTP staff are encouraged to attend and support ICTP participant Pierre 
Fromholz, a postdoc in the Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics 
section, who was one of the winners of the local Famelab competition 
held last February in Trieste.

At the Monday event, Fromholz, along with the winners of the Italian 
local selections, which were held in 15 cities, will challenge each 
other to see who is best able to tell a scientific topic in 3 minutes, 
in a clear, engaging, precise way.

It will also be an opportunity to see some of the best competitors of 
past editions on stage, with the FameLab All Star event.

The event will take place in compliance with all safety regulations in 
force for Covid. Admission is free with reservations required (see 
registration links below).

The event is part of the ESOF Trieste 2020 Science in the City Festival.

PROGRAM

Semifinal: 10:00 am

21 competitors, coming from all over Italy, to tell science in just 3 
minutes. A jury selects the best, who will enter the evening final.

3-minute presentations by the selected finalists.

▪️9.30 pm - FameLab All Star

Scientific entertainment with the best researchers and popularizers of 
past editions.

▪️10.30 pm - Award ceremony

Awarding of the public prize and announcement of the winner of FameLab 
Italia 2020.
