ART EXHIBITIONS*

Hi-tech Creative Photography Exhibition by *Roberto Bubnich *at the 
*Antico Caffe' San Marco* (Via Battisti, 18) ongoing until 17/11. This 
historical cafe' was founded in 1914 and used to be one of the main 
venues of the "intelligentsia" of the city, like Italo Svevo, Umberto 
Saba, James Joyce. It also used to be a print lab utilized by the young 
irredentist groups for the issuing of false passports allowing 
anti-Austrian patriots to escape in Italy. To know more on the artist:

Roma, 9). On display works by Antonio Crivellari, Matjaz Fabe & Bianca

  "Un tempo pieno di attese" (A Time full of Expectations) at Risiera di
  San Sabba (Via Palatucci 5; Bus 8, 10, 19, 20, 21, 23) from 9.00 to
  19.00. A Photography exhibit by Jan Lukas with shots taken in 1965
  while he was there as a political refugee. The Former Nazi lager of
  Risiera San Sabba during WWII was a foreign refugee camp from 1949 to
  1965, hosting almost 1500 persons/day in their quest for freedom who
  had crossed the Italian border illegally from Ex Jugoslavia, Russia,

*"Trieste-Suez. History and modernity in the /Voyage en Egypte / of 
Pasquale Revoltella"* at Revoltella museum (Via Diaz, 27) In 1861 the 
City Council of Trieste resolved to send a delegation to inspect the 
works of the Suez Canal. Pasquale Revoltella joined the expedition.

*"Il mio carso. 100 anni 100 immagini" *(My Karst, 100 years, 100 
images), a tribute to Scipio Slataper (renowned Triestine author of the

*GUIDED TOURS - *

*TORRI DI SLIVIA (SLIVIA TOWERS CAVES)*

On* 3/11 *and* 4/11 *at* 10.30 *and* 14.00 *at* Aurisina Cave *(Bus 
nr.44 from Piazza Oberdan). It is 60 meters deep and 600 meters long and 
is adorned with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, like towers! 
(The most famous are a group of 8 stalagmites, after which the cave is 
named) The cave can be visited by anyone, without particular tools, 
however sturdy shoes are recommended. Admission: 8,00 euro for adults
