***NOTICE TO ALL SCIENTISTS AND STAFF - 2012 CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR 
FESTIVITIES*

**

Please note that, on the occasion of the forthcoming festivities, *the 
Centre will be closed from Saturday, 22 December 2012 to Sunday, 6 
January 2013 inclusive*. *ICTP Staff will not be on duty during this 
period. To facilitate the closure of the buildings, all Scientists and 
Staff are kindly requested to leave the premises no later than 18:00 hrs 
on Friday, 21 December*, and ensure that all electrical equipment in 
their offices is switched off.

*During this period, periodical and extraordinary maintenance works will 
be carried out. Therefore the following will apply:*

**

*BUILDINGS*

. E. Fermi Building, the Adriatico Guesthouse, the Galileo Guesthouse 
and the MLab will be closed for the entire period. No heating will be 
provided.

. Leonardo da Vinci building: access will be possible through the main 
entrance of the building by the use of the badges. No heating will be 
provided.
. Due to extra-ordinary maintentance works in the Leonardo da Vinci 
building, power supply will be cut down on Saturday, 22 December 2012 
from 7:00 to 12:00 hrs.

*COMMUNICATIONS AND IT EQUIPMENT at ICTP
*On Friday, 21 December 2012, starting from 8:00. until Saturday, 22 
December 2012, to 16:00, the administrative servers (SIS, FMS, WebSis, 
Phonebook, Housing) will be shut down*.*

*GUEST HOUSES*: The last working day at the ADRIATICO Guest House will 
be Friday, 21 December 2012; at the GALILEO Guest House it will be 
Sunday, 23 December 2012. Both guest houses will open again on Monday, 7 
January 2013, at 7:00 hrs.

*CAFETERIAS AND BARS*
. ADRIATICO CAFETERIA: closed from Friday, 21 December 2012, after 
lunch, until Sunday, 6 January 2013 inclusive. For the week between 
17--21 December 2012, LUNCH and DINNER is served at the Adriatico Bar.

. LEONARDO BUILDING CAFETERIA AND BAR: closed from Friday, 21 December 
2012, after lunch, until Sunday, 6 January 2013 inclusive. Both the 
Adriatico and the Leonardo Building Cafeteria will open again on Monday, 
7 January 2013 as per normal timetable.

The *LIBRARY*will close at 17:00 hrs on Friday, 21 December 2012 and 
reopen on Monday, 7 January 2013.

The *BANK* at the Fermi Building will be closed from Friday 22 December 
2012 until Sunday 6 January 2013 inclusive.

In case of need, *Unicredit Bank branch 13 at Barcola *will be open 
during this period, except on 25 and 26 December 2012, 1 and 6 January 
2013.

*The TRAVEL AGENCY*Carlson Wagonlit Co. at the Fermi Building will be 
closed from Saturday, 22 December 2012, to Sunday, 6 January 2013 
inclusive. For your travel arrangements during this period, you may 
contact Francesco La Rosa by phone +39 025 8034517 or fax +39 010 417911 
or by email genova1 at cwtbook.it (except on 25 and 26 December 2012, 1 and 
6 January 2013).

*The Allianz INSURANCE Company *at the Fermi Building will be closed 
from Saturday, 22 December 2012, to Sunday, 6 January 2013 inclusive. If 
necessary, you can go to their downtown office in via Locchi 19/A (phone 
+39 040 312400) during this period (except on 25 and 26 December 2012, 1 
and 6 January 2013).

**

*The MEDICAL SERVICES*will be closed from Saturday, 22 December 2012 to 
Sunday, 6 January 2013 inclusive. In urgent cases, contact the Security 
personnel (phone: +39 040 2240606).

*The POSTAL SERVICES*will be closed from Saturday, 22 December 2012 to 
Sunday, 6 January 2013 inclusive. For shipments, the Mail Office in 
Barcola will be open during this period, (except on 25 and 26 December 
2012, 1 and 6 January 2013).

All services will resume on Monday, 7 January 2013.
