NOTICE TO ALL SCIENTISTS AND STAFF - 2011 CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FESTIVITIES

Please note that, on the occasion of the forthcoming Festivities, the Centre will be closed from Saturday 24 December 2011 to Sunday 8 January
January 2012 inclusive. ICTP Staff will not be on duty during this period.

In order to facilitate the closure of the buildings, all Scientists and Staff are kindly requested to leave the premises no later than 18:00
hrs on Friday 23 December and ensure that all the electrical equipment in their offices is switched off.

_*In order to carry out periodical and extraordinary maintenance works during this period, the following will apply:
*_
ICTP's Leonardo Building , E. Fermi Building, the Adriatico Guesthouse and the MLab will be closed for the whole period, i.e., from Saturday 24
December 2011 to 8 January 2012 inclusive. No heating will be provided.

*At the LEONARDO BUILDING*   the electricity supply will be totally interrupted on Saturday 24 December from 8:00 - 14:00.
In case of emergencies, the Security Guards may be contacted at tel: 040 2240606.

*The FERMI BUILDING*  will be shut from Saturday 24 December 2011 to Sunday 8 January 2012 inclusive. The electricity supply will be totally
interrupted on Wednesday 28 December (morning only)

*The ADRIATICO GUESTHOUSE*will be open from Tuesday 20 December until Friday 23 Dec only from 07.00 to 20.00.
TOTALLY CLOSED from Saturday 24 December to Sunday 8  January 2012 inclusive.
*
The GALILEO GUESTHOUSE*  will stay open during the whole festivities period. Some areas and facilities will be made available for the diploma
students and  scientists who wish to continue their work . The Galileo Reception can be contacted for any emergency at tel: 040 2240113

*The MLaboratory*  will be completely off limits from 24/12/2011  to 9/1/2012.

*COMMUNICATIONS AND IT EQUIPMENT at ICTP*
Essential services such as email, webmail, the ICTP Web main page, online application and telephone system will be operational for the whole period and
accessible from both within and outside ICTP's premises*except on 24/12*  when all computer facilities in the Leonardo Building will be shut down due
to the general power cut.Maintenance activities are planned during the period between December 27th and January 8th. The final plans will be confirmed in the last
days before Christmas. All other services, such as web sites (excluding the main web page),the portal servers, remote login (SSH),storage servers,
computational servers (include LSF cluster, clp4-x,amd64-x),could be unavailable from 24 December to 8 January 2010  fora limited number of days.
The unavailability will be communicated in advance.

*CAFETERIAS AND BARS*

The ADRIATICO CAFETERIA: closed from Monday 19 December 2011 until Sunday 8 January 2012 inclusive.
For the week 19/12 - 23/12/2011 ONLY LUNCH will be served at the Adriatico Bar, open from 8.00 to 14.00.

The ADRIATICO BAR will be closed from 24/12/2011 until 08/01/2012 inclusive.

The LEONARDO BUILDING CAFETERIA AND BAR: closed from Friday 23 December 2011 after lunch until Sunday 8 January 2012 inclusive.

On 23/12/2011 ONLY LUNCH will be available at Leonardo Building Cafeteria.

*
The LIBRARY*  will close at 17.00 on 23 December 2011 and reopen on 09 January 2012.
*
In case of need,**the Unicredit Bank branch 13 at Barcola*will be open during this period excluding 26 December 2011 and 6 January
2012.
*
The TRAVEL AGENCY*  Carlson Wagonlit Co. at the Fermi Building will beclosed from 24 December 2011 to 8 January 2012 inclusive.

e-mailgenova1 at cwtbook.it. On 26 Dec 2011 it will be open from 09.00-18.00. Closed on 6 January 2012.

*The Allianz INSURANCE Company*at the Fermi Building will be closed from 24 December 2011 to 8 January 2012 inclusive.
If necessary, you can go to their downtown office in via Locchi 19/A (tel 040 312400) during this  period. Closed on 26 of December 2011 and 6
January 2012.

*The MEDICAL SERVICES*   will be closed from 24 December 2011 to 8 January 2012 inclusive. For urgent cases the Galileo Guesthouse
Reception may be contacted (tel. 040-2240113).

*The POSTAL SERVICES*  will be shut from 24 December 2011 to 8 January 2012.
For  shipments, the Mail Office in Barcola will be open from 16 - 31 Dec
excluding Christmas and New Year days while the Grignano post office (near the Church) will be open only from 1-15 January 2012, from
8.30 to 13.30.

All services will be resumed on Monday 9 January 2012.
