*Tonight at 20:30 "I solisti Veneti" (the Venetian soloists) with Uto 
Ughi, *directed by Claudio Scimone at the Verdi Theatre, music by 
Rossini, Bottesini, Chopin, Pasculli, Pugnani, Bach and Sarasate. Ticket

*Miramare Castle Concert on Sunday 1 May in the Throne Room at 17:00*. 
"Canti d'amore e di mistero" (Songs of love and mystery) with Ljuba 
(vocal) and Attilio Bergamelli (piano). The concert is organized by the 
Associazione Arte & Musica. No booking is required but you must be there 
well in advance in order to find a seat! The concert is free; you must 
only pay the regular entrance to the Castle (euro 6).

*Trieste Verdi Theatre: "Francesca da Rimini" ongoing until 30 April, 
music by Riccardo Zandonai, directed by Julian Kovatchev. *There is a 
50% reduction on tickets purchased "last minute" (one hour before the

*GUIDED TOURS *

*Sightseeing Tour by bus*, every day from 10:00 - 17:30 with departures 
every 56 minutes from Grignano or the Stazione Marittima (close to 
Piazza Unità). You can hop on or off at any of the stops on the way. The 
itinerary is as follows: Stazione Marittima, Corso Italia, San Giusto, 
Campo Marzio, Riva Nazario Sauro, via Filzi, Piazza Oberdan, Train 
Station, Barcola, Grignano, Miramare and return. On board, there is a 
multi-lingual commentary (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, 
Russian and Slovene). Tickets are purchased directly on the bus and are 
valid 24 hrs. Price: euro 15 for adults, euro 7 for children (aged 5 - 
15), there is also a family ticket for euro 33 (2 adults +1 child), and

*ART EXHIBITIONS*

*"150 anni d'arte da Fattori a Fontana". *On the occasion of the 
celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy, 120 
works of famous Italian artists form the 19th and 20th centuries are 
exhibited at the "Scuderie di Miramare" (ex-horse stables of the 
Miramare Castle - before the Main Entrance on the right). The exhibition 
is ongoing until 28 August. Open 10:00 - 19:00 (closed on Mondays).

*On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, 
*visit the exhibition at the Revoltella Museum: "Arte e Nazione. Dagli 
Induno a Fattori" (Art and Nation. From the Indunos to Fattori). A 
collection of works, prints and precious books covering the social, 
cultural life and history of the struggle for the unification of Italy 
whch comes from the Museum's own collections and exhibited in the 
historical apartments of Baron Revoltella. It is interesting to note 
that Trieste was part of the Austrian Empire and that the Baron had 
actively sided with the Austrians in 1859 because of his numerous 
financial and commercial connections with the Austrian Empire. The 
museum is located in via Diaz 27 (take bus 8). You may also visit its 
Modern Art Gallery. There is a free guided tour every Sunday at 11:00. 
Visiting time: 10:00 - 18:00 (closed on Tuesdays).

* "Trieste Liberty. Costruire e abitare l'alba del '900", *(Trieste 
Liberty, urban architecture 1900 - 1914) at the Salone degli Incanti - 
ex Pescheria in Riva Sauro 1. Bus 8.This is an exhibition with beautiful 
shots of Trieste's buildings, architectural projects and designs during 
the Liberty period here, highlighting the works of famous local and 
national architects such as Max Fabiani, Josip Costaperaria, Giuseppe 
Sommaruga, Giorgio Zaninovich, Romeo Depaoli, Giacomo Zammatio and 
others. Entrance ticket euro 3 (free for children and teens up to 14). 
The exhibition is open Mon - Sun 10:00 - 20:00 until 19 June.

*Solo exhibition by Pino Callea, *"Questione di Pelle" ongoing until 11 
May. Interesting works of art made of different materials assembled in a 
"collage style", at the Sala Comunale d'Arte in Piazza Unità 4.

*Visit the Butterfly House in Bordano, *"Casa delle Farfalle"! See the 
"Amazzonia Blu" or "Morpho" butterflies ongoing until 1 May with 
hundreds flying over your head in the greenhouses! Entrance ticket euro 
7 for adults (children aged 4 - 12, euro 5). Best way is to go by car 
(motorway to Udine, exit Gemona - Osoppo then follow road signs to
