CONCERTS AND BALLET*

*"Operetta Mon Amour", *a concert and show with actor, singer and 
showman Elio Pandolfi and the Trieste Verdi Orchestra on *Friday 16 July 
at 21:00 in Muggia (Piazza Marconi) and on Sunday 18 July at 21:00 at 
the Duino Castle. Ticket: euro 15*

"Lirica in Balletto" *on Sat 17 July at the Teatrino del Parco di San 
Giovanni: A Ballet show by the Verdi Ballet Company and two soloists 
(Annamaria Perilli and Riccardo Riccio with music from the opera 
overtures of Verdi, Puccini, Bizet Orff and Mascagni. Entrance ticket 
euro 8. Take bus 6 or 9.

"Boulevard Operette, J'ai trois amours", *recital with actress and 
singer Daniela Mazzucato, tonight, 15 August at the Presiren Theatre in

OPERETTA FESTIVAL IN TRIESTE*

*"Principessa della Csardas *ongoing until 22 July (with performances on 
15, 18, 20 and 22) at the Verdi Theatre. Ticket cost euro10 to 49. Last 
minute tickets can be bought one hour before the show at the Verdi's box 
office with a 50% reduction.

*"Sissi nei Luoghi della Storia" *ongoing 23 July (with performances on 
16, 17, 21, 23) at 20:30 at the Sala Tripcovich with music by Fritz 
Kreisler inspired by the same American Musical "Apple Blossom" written 
fro Broadway in 1919 by the same composer.

ART EXHIBITION*

*"Raffaella Curiel, Art and Fashion", *an exhibition of the 
International Italian fashion designer from Trieste at the Sala Umberto 
Veruda in Piazza Piccola 2 (close to Piazza Unità) ongoing until 18 
July. The exhibition highlights her close and intimate relationship with 
art and her connections with international artists during her life. 
Visiting times: 10:00 - 13:00 / 17:00 - 20:00.

Mirò, "Il Poeta del Colore" *(the poet of colours) ongoing until 7 
November at the Scuderie di Miramare (ex-horse stables of the Miramare 
Castle close to the main entrance gate). The exhibition is a collection 
of Mirò's art prints, lithographs, watercolours combined with poetic 
verses by the artist himself. Open from Tues - Sun 10:00 - 18:30. 
Entrance ticket euro 5.

*"Trieste Loves Jazz Festival" 18 July - 8 August *

*"The Trieste Gospel Choir" on Sunday 18 July in Piazza Unità at 21:00*.

*"Ocho Rios" on Monday 19 July at 21:00 in Piazza Verdi (facing the 
Verdi Theatre, close to Piazza Unità). An international salsa and Latin 
jazz band with 30 musicians on stage who will get together for one night 
in Trieste to celebrate their 30th anniversary.  *Check programme:

Serbian Music Festival in the Carso: "Guca sul Carso" in Prepotto on Sat 
17 and Sun 18 July. *Guca is a small village 150 km south of Belgrade 
well known for its music festival held every year with thousands of 
visitors. Emir Kusturica's films and Goran Bregovic's music have 
contributed to making this music famous all over the world.  Kiosks and 
stands will offer Serbian food specialties as well. On Sat 17, there 
will be 3 concerts starting at 20:00, at 22:00 and 24:00 and on Sunday 
at 18:00, 20:30 and 23:00.  Difficult to reach by bus with limited 
timings (bus 44 from Piazza Oberdan to Aurisina then bus 43 to

"Elisa Live Concert Tour" (Italian pop Singer) in Piazza Unità on Sat 17 
July at 21:30.*

Colombian Festival* at the Arco di Riccardo (close to San Giusto) and 
surroundings on Sat 17 July and Tuesday 20. On the occasion of the 
celebration of 200 years of independence, the Association "Amistad 
Italia-Colombia"", with the support of the Colombian Embassy in Rome and 
the Consulate in Trieste has organized a number of events: folk dances, 
art exhibitions and conferences.**

Sistiana Bay Nightlife at the Caravella: Music, Bars and Discos. *You 
can get to Sistiana with APT airport bus 51 and walk down to the bay or 
take bus 44 from Piazza Oberdan (longer route through the Carso).  
*There are free buses on Saturday night departing from Piazza Oberdan. 
The service is called "Overnight" and is reserved for young people aged 
16 - 25 who wish to go to Sistiana at night. Departure from Piazza 
Oberdan at 22:15, 22:30, 23:30 and 23:45 and return at 1:10, 2:20, 2:50 
and 4:15.*

FREE OPEN AIR GYM CLASSES in Barcola ongoing until 5 September**

OUTSIDE TRIESTE*

*AQUILEIA: "Romans vs. Huns" on Sat 17 and Sun 18 July. *A live remake 
of the Roman period of Aquileia and the conquest of the city by the 
Huns. There will be a reconstruction of a Roman camp in Aquileia's 
archaeological area with live performances of archers on horses wearing 
costumes of the Roman period, live music shows, discussion groups in 
Latin, a live remake of the battles between the Huns and the Romans and 
all sorts of side events and kiosks set up all around the archaeological 
area and the main squares of Aquileia with food specialties. There will 
also be an opera concert "Attila" by Verdi in Piazza Patriarcato on Sat 
17 at 21:15 (tickets sold on the spot) Check complete programme:

take E59 to Aquileia or take the train to Cervignano and then catch a
