10 - 12 JULY 2009*
EXHIBITIONS:
Photography exhibition: "Viaggiando per il Tibet" ( Travelling across 
Tibet),  at the Sala ex Arturo Fitke, di Piazza Piccola nr. 3 ( close to 
Piazza Unita`). A rich collection of photos to better illustrates 
Tibet's culture, traditions, costumes, and Buddhist religion. Open 
everyday from 10:00 - 13:00 and 17:00 - 20:00 from 2 - 13 July.

Inauguration on Friday 10 July at 18:30 at the Serra di Villa Revoltella 
(Via de Marchesetti 37) of the photographic exhibition entitled 'Il 
Liberty a Trieste'.  Open daily from Saturday from 16:30-19:30.

Art exhibition" La mostra del Paesaggio", at Sala Umberto Veruda at 
Palazzo Costanzi (close to Piazza Unita'), Chersicla, Zigaina and 
Dalisi, are some of the famous artists from this Region that will be 
exhibiting their works.  Open until 2 August.  More info. 335-6750946.

Museo Ugo Carra' in Muggia: "Museo Rossimoda della Calzatura: Il potere 
della seduzione" (a selecion of High Fashion Italian shoes design). The 
exhibition will remain until 29 July with the following opening times: 
Tues - Sun: 18:30 -20:30 and Thurs 10:00 - 12:00

"Mozambique: The Season of the Future" held at the Cultural Association 
"Officina", via Manzoni 9 (FREE ENTRANCE).The exhibition is a collection 
of photos taken by the reporter, Francesco Fantini,during a journey in 
Mozambique made with Gil, a former Mozambican homeless boy.Gil 
accompanied the reporter from the capital, Maputo, throughout the 
country, along the coasts, inland, as far as his native village in the 
forest where he met his family again after many years.

At the Museo Revoltella, Leonor Fini "L'Italienne de Paris", an 
Argentine surrealist painter who lived in Trieste in the early part of 
her life and subsequently moved to Paris  (1907 - 1996). The exhibition 
presents a huge collection of 150 works coming from important museums 
and private Italian, French and American collections, illustrating 
different periods of the artist's works. Open 4 July - 4 October. For

MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

Operetta Festival:
On 11 - 17 - 22 and 25 July: at the Verdi Theatre " La Vedova Allegra"

On Fri 10 July in Muggia's Marconi Square, "Il conte di Lussemburgo" at 
21:00. Soprano, Loredana Pellizzari. Tickets may be purchased one hour 
before the show directly on the premises on a first come first served 
basis for Eur 15,00/person.  The summer carnival in Muggia is currently 
taking place until 31 August.  More information on: www.comune.muggia.ts.it.

On Sun 12 July; " Carosello dell'Operetta Ungherese", at the Sala 
Tripcovich, at 20:30. Soloists and dancers from the Opera Theatre of 
Budapest. For more info on  ticket prices,  calendar, contact free toll

Latin American Music, with "Chirike'"in Trieste at the Centro Sport e 
Cultura in Longera at 20:00. Free entrance. The band plays a rich 
repertoire of traditional ethnic music from Peru, Venezuela and Cuba and 
the musicians come from different Latin American countries. Two of them 
work as scientists in scientific institutions in Trieste. Take bus 6 to 
Piazza Oberdan and change with bus 35 to Longera (take bus nr. B for the 
return until 0:20).  See www.chirike.com

On Friday evening 10 July, the village of Opicina will be having a 
summer festival, with all the shops open and live music throughout the 
evening, as well as entertainment for children, including magic shows.  
You can get to Opicina with bus 4 or the tram which leave from opposite 
Piazza Oberdan.

Every Saturday and Sunday evening from 11 July - 9 August, there will be 
the annual 'sagra' in Basovizza near the lake with food on sale and live 
music.

Until Sunday, there is the 'Sagra de la Sardela' in the Campanelle 
sports stadium (via Campanelle on the corner with via Brigata Casale - 
take bus 33 to its terminus, and bus C in the evening).  Grilled meat 
and fish, live music.

 From Friday 10 July at 18:30 until 19 July, there will be a 'Festa del 
Mare', (Maritime Festival) near the Stazione Marittima on the waterfront 
in Trieste not far from Piazza Unita. 

Cantera Social Club in the Sistiana Bay is open during the summer each 
day from 23:00. You can get to Sistiana with the airport bus 51 and walk 
down to the bay or take bus 44 from Piazza Oberdan.  Bus 73 takes you 
down to the bay, but the last bus up is at 20.06 so be sure not to miss 
it unless you can cope with the steep climb back up.
FLEA MARKET AND BRIC A BRAC
Every Friday in July, down in Sistiana Bay, in the Parco Caravella, 
there is a flea market from 18:00 - 23:00

TOURS IN TRIESTE AND SURROUNDINGS:
Guided Tour on foot of Trieste's historical monuments (in Italian and 
English) at 10:00 daily.  The tour lasts 2 hours and costs Euro 5,00 
(children under 12 go free).  Advance booking is necessary, please call
