*EVENTS*

*Barcola "Ben Tornati Topolini" Fri 16 -- Sun 18. *
On the occasion of the restyling of the Barcola Beach Terraces 
"Topolini". There will be 3 days of entertainment, music, games, shows, 
hobby fair exhibition, agility dog show and much more along the Barcola 
Riviera, culminating *in the "Frecce Tricolori" acrobatic air show on 
Sunday 18 from 15:30 -- 17:30.* Buses 6 and 36 will be running on Fri 
and Sat until midnight and Sun 18 from 13:30 -- 20:30 extensively every 
5 minutes. The Strada Costiera will be closed  on Sun 18 from 15:30 
until the end of the show.

*//ART EXHIBITIONS*

*Photography Exhibition* at the *United World College* in Duino, on 
Thurs 15 at 19:30. On the occasion of the 25^th anniversary of 
photography classes at the college, there will be 2 exhibitions; at the 
Art Centre Erich Hartman in Duino with artistic pictures taken by the 
students from 2006--08 and a collection of books with students' 
portraits from 1982 to 2008, followed by a second exhibition at the 
Auditorium Principe Raimondo della Torre e Tasso. Refreshments served.

*Carte Fantastiche 2003 -- 2008 *art exhibition by* Olivia Siauss*, at 
the Sala Comunale d'Arte in Piazza Unità 4 -- until 18 May.

*Miela Theatre: "L'inutile indispensabile*", a kermesse of artists, 
poets, videomakers, graphic designers, architects or simply fans of Erik

*Free Guided Tour: "Passeggiata dell'Amicizia" *(The Friendship Walk) on 
Sun18 May. Take bus 46 from Piazza Oberdan. Meeting point in front of 
the Comune of Sgonico at 13:00. You will then proceed with a guide to 
Pliskovica in Slovenia through a wood path called the "Milk Path" (one 
and a half hour walk).  Upon arrival, you will be offered refreshments. 
At 15:00 cultural programme with music, food and dance until 19:00. 
 Return by mini -- bus (free) or by foot at 19:00.

*Guided Tour* "*On Joyce's footsteps*", an interesting way to learn 
about James Joyce's life in Trieste, the houses he lived in, the places 
he visited, coffee and pastry shops he used to be fond of. A two-hour 
walk on *Sat 17 at 10:30.* Meeting point at the Info Point in Piazza
