Celebration of The UN Day 2007 TODAY

Today celebaration of the United Nations Day 2007

You are kindly reminded and invited to take part in the UN Day 
celebration today at 18:30  at the Sala Tripcovich in Trieste. Please 
bring family and friends. Free entry.

The ceremony will start with greetings by local authorities and a video 
greeting by the UN Secretary- General. In addition to the intervention 
of the Director, there will be a message from the Deputy Director 
General  Ana Maria Cetto of the IAEA, the launch of the Italian version 
of the "100 reasons to be a scientist", and the prize ceremony "Galileo 
Galilei" for the five best local high school students in physics.

After the ceremonial part, the UN Day celebration will continue with a 
concert; as seen in the distributed printed leaflet, a number of groups 
with young musicians will perform, and there will be ethnic dances by 
students of the `United World College of Duino. Suzie Radosic and 
friends will also play.

  Earlier this afternoon, on the occasion of the UN Day, there will at 
15:30 be some lectures at the Faculty of Economics of the University of 
Trieste, also at 15:30 a joint workshop at the Liceo Oberdan with UWCAD 
students.

At the Sala Comunale of Trieste's Townhall, at 17:00, the City Council 
will have a special session on the UN and the Millenium goals. There 
are limited number of places available in the Town Hall, expectedly as 
few as 60 are available for visitors but interested staff are 
nevertheless welcome to participate.
