Free-time activities
Day-Trip suggestion
This weekend the weather promises to be warm and sunny. Take advantage
to explore the lovely area of the Val Rosandra to the east of Trieste
(http://www.ts.camcom.it/laprovincia/valrosandra.htm). There are paths
for mountain biking, trekking or walking and you can have a bite to eat
at the historic Rifugio Premuda, which as well as being a bar also
serves simple local dishes (040 228147). The Rifugio is open daily
(except Tuesday) from 12-14.30 and 18.30-21.30. On Sundays, the
timetable is non-stop, and they serve food from 12-21. It is best to
book though, as it's small and gets very busy. We have maps with
descriptions of paths and what to see and do in Val Rosandra at the
InfoPoint in the Reception of the Main Building. You can reach the
area easily by taking Bus 40 from the railway station.
