Update: ICTP arrangements during the forthcoming Festivities

NOTICE TO ALL SCIENTISTS AND STAFF - 2007 CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR 
FESTIVITIES

Please note that, on the occasion of the forthcoming Festivities, the 
Centre will be closed from Saturday 22 December 2007 to Sunday 06 
January 2008 inclusive.  ICTP Staff will not be on duty during this 
period.

In order to carry out periodical and extraordinary maintenance works 
during this period, the following will apply:

ICTP's Main Building and the E. Fermi Building will be closed for the 
whole period. No heating will be provided.
Disinfestation will be effected on 22 December at the Main Building and 
Enrico Fermi Building, so access will be totally forbidden on that 
day.  The electricity supply and the data network may be interrupted on 
the same day from
 08.00 a.m. until noon.

The corridor between SISSA and the Main Building will be closed.

The Galileo Guest House will stay open during the whole festivities 
period; some areas and facilities will be made available for scientists 
who wish to continue their work . The Galileo Reception can be 
contacted for any emergency tel: 040 2240113

The Adriatico  Guesthouse and the Microprocessor Laboratory will be 
closed.

To facilitate the closure of the buildings, all Scientists and Staff 
are kindly requested to leave the premises no later than 18.00 on 
Friday, 21 December 2006 and to make sure that the electrical equipment 
in their offices is switched off. 
Scientists and Staff members  are also kindly requested to free as much 
as possible their desks and windowsills due to major cleaning works 
during the closure period.

 Bars and Cafeterias at the Main Building and Adriatico Guesthouse will 
be operating as follows:

Main building Cafeteria	closed	from 18 December 2007 to 6 January 2008
Main Building Bar		closed	from 22 December 2007 to 6 January 2008
Adriatico Cafeteria		closed	from 21 December 2007  Dinner time  to 22 
January 2008
Adriatico Bar			closed	from 22 December 2007 to 6 January 2008

The Library will be closed from 22 December 2007 to 6 January 2008

The Unicredit Bank at the Enrico Fermi building will be closed from 25 
December 2007  to 6 January 2008.
In case of need the Unicredit Bank branch 13 at Barcola will be open 
during this period excluding 25, 26 december 2007 and 1st January 2008.

The Travel Agency Carlson Wagonlit Co. at the Fermi Building will be  
closed from 22 December 2007 to 6 January 2008;

The Lloyd Adriatico Insurance Company at the Fermi building will be 
closed from 21 December 2006 to  7 January 2007.
If necessary, you can go to their downtown office in via Locchi 19/A 
tel. 040 312400 during this  period excluding 24,25, 26 December 2006 
and 1st January 2007.

The Medical Services  will be closed from 22 December 2007 to 6 January 
2007. For urgent cases the Galileo Guest House Reception may be 
contacted (tel. 040-2240113).

The Postal Services will be shut from 22 December 2007 to 6 January 
2008.

For shipments, the Mail Offices in Grignano (near the church) and in 
Barcola may be used.
No internal office distribution will be made.

All services will be resumed on Monday 7 January 2008.
