To all ICTP Visitors

We are planning a trip to the Castle of Muggia on the morning of
Saturday, 1st September.
The coastal village of Muggia is very picturesque, with an ancient
history dating back to Roman times, and also has much in common with
Venice, under whose rule it passed in 1420.

The Castle of Muggia has recently been restored by the Villi Bossi
family and is open to the public. The visit will be free of charge
thanks to ICTP sponsorship.

Muggia is about 22 km. from the ICTP and participants will only have
to provide for their own transportation. You will need approximately
one hour to get there either by bus or by boat.

We shall meet at MUGGIA at 10:45 a.m. - details of the venue will be given
in the next few days - and proceed altogether to the Castle. Mrs. Bossi
will take us on a guided tour there at 11 a.m. It is expected to last
until lunch time. Some drinks and snacks will be offered to the
participants.

Once the tour ends, you are free to continue the visit of the town on
your own, as there is lots to see and do.

For your transportation we suggest the following:
Take the Delfino Verde boat from Grignano to Trieste at 9 a.m and upon
arrival on the same dock (Molo Pescheria) catch another boat at 10 a.m
to Muggia (total cost return ticket 12.90 Euro).
Or take Bus 20 from the Train Station at 9am. You could buy a day
ticket that would cost you 3,20 for the entire trip.

If you are interested in participating in the trip, please come to Info
Point to sign the list as entry to the castle is limited to 35 and
places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
